That is ok, Mary. I was thinking of the same things as you were. There is just too much risk buying directly from Planteck so that is why I am seeking a nursery in the US that would place the order and mail out the plants to the various members who want to participate the groupbuy. Participants can make payment to the nursery instead of having one person handling the order and payment. Well, I will continue to look for this nursery and get back with you all.

That sounds like an excellent compromise, Karen. I'm certainly still interested in getting some of their varieties, if it works out to have a nursery middleman that's fine as well. I wish I could get to their site!

I handled a co-op several years ago through Hollingsworth. It is a lot of work. I took in the money, got the order from Hollingsworth and mailed all the peonies to the participants. Ticker helped out by making a speed sheet to help me stay organized. My daughters helped pack and ship. It's a lot of work doing it, but I felt it was worth it. Getting a good deal for others is not "easy". Seemed as if the shipping time was stated at time of co-op but several people were nervous because they didn't ship earlier than that. Most places will not ship to each participant. It's too much work. Shipping to one person saves them time and money.

I purchased 5 peonies through your co-op in 2010. Very happy with the procedure and price. I think the price per peony was not quite 50%, more like 60%. There are bargains to be found near the end of the season but it is best to have each person deal with their own purchases unless all the details are worked out in advance. A major deal with a source which normally caters to wholesalers is a problem for individual purchasers.

Count me in too, I might have to downsize my order a little bit depends on price / plant. LOL

If you do a group buy, you might want to post it on the group buy/co-op forum to get more buyers. I just happened to see this on the weekly newsletter, but I'd be interested.

Thanks for the interest Susan! I hope to be to work something out with a nursery. When I get close to something, I will post the specifics here and hopefully open the groupbuy to others on ATP.

I had been holding off until more specifics were listed. I still am interested in getting some Itohs that are not currently available here in the US.
