Well, it usually isn't like this in January and February. The temps are waaaaay off the norm this year.

Karen, do you go to the Cincinnati Flower Show? I heard it's one of the best in the country. What's up with the new format for 2012?

Chelle, I hear that. I've been in and out all morning. Can't resist. I picked up downed limbs and twigs, checked on plants, etc. Green Grin!

Susan, I used to go to the local Garden Show each year. It was nice. Several years ago they moved it from what I thought was a nice venue at Old Coney to a more upscale area. I thought it was a terrible venue. It was in spring, everything was muddy, parking was in muddy fields. Last year they sponsored no show, and this year it's a series of smaller events

Some of those programs might be worthwhile but they just don't appeal to me. A ladies lunch, wearing "lacy dressy garden attire", at $100/person for lunch? I think not! My garden attire is holey jeans and ragged tee shirt and and food that costs a dollar or two. I'm just not that classy, and I wonder how much those "ladies who lunch" actually ever really garden.

I did the same while I was out. My seed-started campanula (a first for me Smiling ) are doing great so far, so I'm pleased as punch. There's another bellflower type plant out there that's going strong too.....can't think of its name right now....

Hilarious! "the riffraff is here!"

Some of those things might be nice, I don't know. I liked the older shows though, and wish the shows would have stayed more geared to normal, average, home gardeners.
