Thread OP

I was wondering if a clematis will come back after it was cut to the ground? I had someone come over and do some weeding for me and cut all my clematis to the ground. I have never really even pruned them and now I am afraid they won't come back. What do you think? I hope they will! Sad

I'm pretty sure they will come back. Especially if it was an established plant. I believe quite a few people cut theirs down every so often so they don't get too out of control

I have two that came back this year after having to cut them all back last year. One other one has not come back (yet! Crossing Fingers! )

They will! They are tougher plants than you think. Give them a drink of 1 tbsp Epsom Salts in a gal. of water. Thumbs up

And watch those so called garden helpers! Sticking tongue out
