It's a pretty hardy plant, so I would think quite a while. Are you stewing about its ultimate home, or waiting for something? I'd think it would do fine all summer in a large enough pot if need be. It will need something to climb, and you may need to cut it back when you do plant it out, but it can take hard pruning. Welcome to NGA, hope you enjoy it here.

I prune mine hard............about a foot from the ground. It comes back with a vengence. LOL

I had to relocate mine this spring as it was pretty close to some cement walls/footings that we dug out from our garage fire a year ago. I had hubby grub it out with the loader tractor........no way I was going to get those roots loose and dug out. I put it in a 20 inch pot (and had to stuff to get all those roots in there) for about a month, and planted it in its new home not too long ago. It's making shoots and leaves like nobody's business. You'd never guess it was moved.

My wife and I have a honeysuckle, unsure how old it is it has done great in the past couple years we've lived here, however this year the leaves are turning brown. Everything started from one side underneath and has moved throughout the whole thing still mostly underneath. Any thoughts or reccomenations?
