Split Review is beautiful (I thought it was more red based on the hybridizer's photo, but I guess the color on their pic was 'off' as it is clearly described as 'lavender rose red' after I read the description).

I'm in love with Almira; I haven't bought it yet but it's on my wanted list I do have some seedlings out of it, and am impatiently waiting on them to grow up! Sandy Nall's intense green throats are amazing. I lost several bids on seeds out of BID; hope to win some this season

Of course, I would also love to have seeds out of The Lady of Shallot or Victoria Josephine!!!

I was hoping to slow down on adding DL's but you all make that very difficult posting the beautiful pics of ones I don't have.

I had a surprise FFE here today.

Journey of Magic...


Yes, it is that short. I just purchased this plant this year and it was planted on the 6th of this month! It had the scape on it when I received it. Despite all that stress it managed to produce a lovely flower...even if it is only about 6 inches off the ground!

Larry, it is a distinctive color. The closest color to any other daylily that I grow is At Sunset which is also difficult for me to capture the true color in a photo.
These are two photos of At Sunset and Little Lighthouse is close to the gold in the second photo.



There are two photos of Little Lighthouse in the plant database here and while pretty pics they are very different for color.
As far as the plant, I just planted it at the end of April so it only has a small scape with a few buds. I hope it will perform for me with 8 branches when established.

Zoro's Blade third bloom. Couldn't get a good angle on the seond because it was facing the wall...




.....and the highly anticipated Fred Manning second bloom. I watered before shooting it's FFE bloom, and it was just as splotchy as this one so you can imagine what it was looking like after watering!



What makes a daylily bloom splotchy? Last year, Spock's Ears was beautiful with solid color....

I think normally it is the rain or cool temps that seem to do it in my garden.

Thrips will make blooms blotchy, especially dark blooms.

@DogsNDaylilies, thank you, you're so generous! I'd love to have it, but I'm afraid it won't pass duty. And it would cost you a lot, too! But really thank you for offering. Maybe if you'll have some seed one day.. it would be fun to see of another beatiful NOID like that could born!
