Thanks..but not so much as a whole..if I take photos of the individual blooms ..it looks ok. The shady parts look fine. Soon I will rip out those twll orange annuals ( no idea what they are ..bag of mixed seed ) and then the truth will come out! They got everywhere and I let them go. The first buds were eaten cleanly ( every single one ) by the deer ..just left sticks...but I was surprised with another batch of buds on the same plants!! . I SPRAYED with the stinky stuff that time!

I guess other than heavily fencing in the property or perhaps having a dog to "guard" the property, there's little you can do to deter the deer.

Yes. We had Rosie....she left us a few years back...but the deer used to terrorize her...a pointer afraid of EVERYTHING. The squirrels tree'd HER!

The drive cannot be fenced in..not completely and they come up the drive plus, 125 acres behind us in conserved land...and a deer trail...and we have a creek running alongside the property..a perfect deer environment. The doe and the fawn sleep right outside my window and this year one leaves her fawn for 5-7 hours waiting ..napping and sometimes browsing. Nothing to be done. I am the interloper.

Ah ha, got any pumpkin flowers with baby pumpkins below, Tiffany? We had a cool-ish May this year and I have a lot of things that are somewhat behind when they usually stop blooming for the summer.

Daylilies are usually blooming in late April and long since done by now. I think this may be the last from this frilly monster, though. The last two buds look like they are shriveling.

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana plants continue to be a worthwhile addition to the landscape, blooming since they were inside in December.

Looks beautiful, Tiffany, what a nice combination. I can never keep those kalanchoes going, it seems.

Today I finally have lotus blooming in a tub in my back yard. Can't grow them in the fish pond because it only gets about 3hr. of sun. I especially love them when they are in that graceful "cup" shape before they open out wide.

Just found out something new, too - the one flower that is open all the way closes itself up when the clouds come over, or when any shade hits it. So cool.

I'm hoping for lots more flowers this summer - there are 3 more buds coming along right now. Hurray!
