I only remember what CT and NJ were like in the summer. Humid in river valleys. Some 90s, but 100s were rare. Those were enough to make me sit naked in front of a fan and pant like a dog.

Now, our "unseasonably hot weeks" are over and we're having an "unseasonably cold week".
One night went down to 44 F and many days haven't gone over 65-70.
We are spoiled!

My baby got sunburned today, is there anything that can be done about that or am I just a horrible gardener? *Blush*

What shame! It is so pretty! I don't think there is anything you can do but wait for new growth. In the mean time, give it some shade from the harshest sun times??

Oh Shymaiden, don't give up hope. Do lots of research, it will turn your thumb green!
I killed my first plant, a cactus. I have since learned that the more you know about a plant the better chance you have to keep it alive and growing.

Rick, I got a good laugh out of the "Gorilla tape". That must be attractive. I thought I went a little overboard recycling containers in the garden, I rarely toss a pot out. But when a plastic pot gets brittle it's time to send it to the landfill. Do you own one of those duct tape wallets?

That's the problem, when it says you can give a certain succulent full sun, they didn't consider Oklahoma sun! Grumbling
I am keeping all of mine in the shade now!
By the way, just out of curiosity who decides when plants get shade, sun, ect. Makes me wonder what state they are in when they make these decisions.. Thumbs down Confused

I know. There are very few "full sun" plants that can take Texas sun, too. Its all tial and error. If you listen carefully, the plant will tell you what it needs just like yours told you what it didn't like.

I hadn't thought of patching it that way, it's a nylon fabric. But now I AM thinking!

For me, "looking nice" is something that happens by coincidence when some contraption doesn't look ratty or junk-inspired. The plants look good to me when they're healthy - that's enough.

But you can tape the inner pot on its outside (to keep the glue-tape out of the potting mix), and tape the outer pot on its inside (so it looks nicer, I guess). After they are nested, it doesn't look much worse than old old, beat-up, cracked pot.

I hate to throw things away, so I ask myself "HOW brittle?" before I toss it. Even then, I'm more likely to just move it to the bottom of the spare stack of pots, "to be used last".

Any reasonable person would be quicker than I am to throw something old away.
