Sherry is that poppy 'Lauren's Grape'? I remember the color being darker than that, but light conditions make such a diff.

hehehehe...carol, didn't I ask you that about a poppy you have? I'd always heard so much about Lauren's Grape this and Lauren's Grape that....and I saw some Lauren's seeds a couple of weeks ago and got them...still haven't sown them...since you've reminded me, I should do that today. No, that is Persian Blue...though it's not blue...those seeds came from Dee.....

Oh, HURRAY! My dierama (aka Angel's Fishing Rods, Fairy Wands) are starting to bloom! These came to me as a bag of mixed corms, so apparently the light pink is the first to bloom...or at least the first to bloom of what I have. The one I REALLY want is Merlin, or any other close to Merlin, which is deep dark wine color. I know there is at least one in this batch, because it was flowering when brought to me. I need to find a spot to plant them today and they will go into the ground as mixed also....I will have to try to label them individually as they bloom for later separation....if I get to it....
They're difficult to photograph as they sway in the slightest of breezes and it's seldom absolutely still here.

Sometimes I like pink and sometimes I don't, but have to admit that it's nice on the dierama....

I've heard they are rampant reseeders, but If I had room, I would plant one.

Tough sounds good right now. While I'm thinking about what plants are frying here, have you gotten any seeds from Digiplexus? I got one seed pod that looks mature, but no telling if the seeds are viable, or what you would get. One of mine in the front doesn't look like it will make it. West facing bed gets blazing sun. Everything is getting crispy.

My digiplexis (2) went belly up along with three Coleonemas and a couple of Echium vulgares...all in the same bed and I know it was Verticillium with the coleonemas, so I'm assuming that's what got the echiums and digilexis also...My Vine Maple is in the same corner and still okay, so keeping my fingers crossed on that...

Sorry to hear that. The biggest problem I've had with the digis is mealys. I'll have to see if any viable seeds are in that pod...but not right now.

Well, I'm sure one of mine is toast, but I can live with two years. That's all I can get with Lavender too.

The only lavender I like is the munstead type and I can only get two years out of a plant here.
