I am sorry but I don't have any more fernleaf hybrid peony left. They have all been taken.

Karen, I received your box today! Thank you! Such nice big plants, I have already dug holes for them, but I'm going to have to dig bigger ones I think. Love the bonus plant too!

Thanks, Alilyfan! Hope you will get blooms next spring.

@bluegrassmom Teresa, you can plant these upright, slanted or horizontal as long as the roots are below soil and the eyes are 1" below soil level. Then place a 1" layer of mulch over the peony to prevent heaving during winter. In spring when you notice the pips coming out of the soil, gently brush away the mulch to allow the pips to grow.

Karen, I am afraid I may have planted some last year to deeply. Plus, thanks for suggesting mulch. Maybe I should lift my others and add mulch this Fall. I didn't get any blooms, but they all survived.

Do you think they will bloom the first season or should I not expect it?

@bluegrassmom Teresa, please don't dig up the peonies that you had already planted last year. Give it another year to see if they will bloom next spring. If they don't then consider digging them and replanting them at that time. Sometimes, it may take two years for the peonies to establish and bloom.

Karen, rain prevented me from planting today. I want to plant tomorrow but we may get hit with a lot of rain on Sunday from Hermine. Can they take a lot of water or should I pot them up until all the water goes away?

@bxncbx Elena, please plant them now and don't water. Don't presoak the roots either. Let the rain rehydrate the roots. The peonies will love this rain and grow lots of feeder roots. That is what you want for flowers next year.
