1951...skirts and dresses for school, pedal pushers and dungarees out of school, separate dresses for church with the ubiquitous white dress socks and black patent leather shoes. Today, my closet has more jeans than dresses and no patent leather.

There was a time I had all jeans and jean skirts..
As the years have gone by, I go back to dresses.

There is an african lady who travels from craft fair to craft fair..she sells all cotton dresses..dyed with wax..,I cannot kill them. In the washer..in the dryer...no wrinkles. Cool as chilled cucumbers. Non restricting. Beautiful prints that never show a tomato sauce spatter!!! Hahaha!

I stick to her stuff. Long to ankle to above the knee and in between. I try to get two each year..those are roughly $100 bucks esch but an investment I don't regret. I wear constantly and some are 13-14 years old

I love Batik work. Years ago my daughter and I did a few yards of material for her art project. She made a skirt, handbag, and a top....scraped the wax away, cut out her pieces, sewed them up and then used my new iron to press them. Thank Goodness she ironed them inside out. Otherwise everything may have flamed up....Yup The residual wax soaked into the ironing board cover and when she saw that it was, she set the iron down and ran to get a towel??? to soak it up. The iron heated up the wax and started smoking, a lot. and singed the cover. But, she made an A on the project. Thumbs up

It takes many many many minutes to upload..I have quit twice! ATT says the most distance is 15000 from signal and we are 13000 plus. So 1.5- 1.8 the best...

I will try to upload the prints as my patience lets me.
Right now in between I am replacing the fishing line holding up art glass in the windows because a while ago a 3.5- 4 foot piece over the door hardened ( the plastic line) and broke...do not KNOW how that stained glass managed to catch the edge of the molding above the door ...but it did not fall ..I still say it was impossible... It just rested there! Anyway, replacing things 20 feet up with metal beading thread.. Good thing..I can see the line has yellowed

These three were the first...many many many years old..I clean house in the almost solid green primt ..it is soft like a tissue.. Been washed a zillion times. The whitish green print is the only one I have that had too much wax and it remained stiff for many years..still is to an extent.

I hope you all enjoyed looking at the prints the colors have stayed true. I imagine when I am sitting in the old age home I will be wearing these..I hope nobody swipes. My moms clothes lasted two weeks in the rest home.. Usually, if I went looking I found them on someone else. Even with her name PAINTED across the rear!

Those are great patterns Rosie. Thanks for sharing...I will be looking for Nnamdi Ibenagu at the numerous craft fairs around here.
