It was a really nice day here. The predicted high winds from the storm never did happen. Now they are saying high winds are coming tomorrow.

cool morning but not as cool as yesterday morning . Now the heat has turned on . Humidity not quite so deadly today.

Discovered one of my seedlings is a bud builder and just keeps adding and adding buds . Should be interesting to see how mny bloom scars end up on the scape.

They are calling for a high of 79F. The people next door who always have company outdoors on holidays, past my bedtime, will be disappointed. I think they like it in the 90s. The 90s and 100s don't move their get-togethers indoors. Maybe rain would move them indoors since they don't have a solid roof on the porch, but it doesn't rain on holidays or Saturdays. It's like the chamber of commerce made a deal with the devil.

The local yocals have been partying it up for 2 days now. Hopefully tonight will be the end of it . I moved to the country for peace and quiet ......seems no one around here knows what that means and when I say they can be loud I mean drunk loud.

We were thinking of cooking out but changed our minds at about six. This little storm came out of nowhere at seven thirty. It would have gotten us for sure.

Low this morning 53, high of 75

They are calling for a high of 85F.

It ended up that the people next door did not have company yesterday. That was a big surprise. Maybe it wasn't hot enough for them. It probably got up into the low 80s. We did not turn the air conditioner on until bedtime.

Signet, we have some really loud people a couple houses up and on the street behind us. I'm betting they think they are so Hollywood. They started getting loud way too often so I started calling the police. They have since been quiet, knock on wood. They have live D.J. parties with amplified music in their backyard with hoards of people and go on past 2:30AM. That is totally uncalled for. These are 1/4 acre lots. I have never called the police because of a party because it is almost impossible to get through on a Saturday night, though one party was on Sunday, a work/school night. I called when they were loud on weekdays. They blast the stereo so loud I can hear it in every room of my house and I am two houses away.

Kelli, yes that is a little uncalled for . I dont mind people partying but when it gets to be 3 in the morning and they are still as loud as they were at 11 p.m. then I get a little miffed. All I ask is that people be reasonable .Bes t part is I am surrounded by farm fields so this noise is from at least a 1/4 mile down the road . There are no trees so the sound really travels .

I have even had people careening thru my back yard because they were so drunk and have no idea where they are . One young man left a party and spent some time in our back yard ( 2 acres) and had a run in with our electric fence for our goats. That was around 12 a.m His friends called his father some time later and he arrived around 2 in the morning looking for him . He was long gone out of our yard by then but just down the road from us is a set of train tracks and the trains come by at regular intervals ........somehow he made it into town past those tracks and his father found him that night . He was in grade 12 then I seem to recall .

Kelli and Signet I'm feeling pretty blessed right now with our quiet countryside! Our closest neighbor likes peace and quiet and never hesitates to tell the other neighbor with teenagers to quiet it down! I don't think the people next door get drunk. They don't get loud and aren't out late. They just don't seem like the type. Most of the time, they are actually very quiet. I'm sure there is plenty of drinking going on at the loud people's house parties, though. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there were drugs, too.

Weather was nice all weekend, sunny, low humidity, upper 70's. finished a lot of smaller oddball projects, started a few larger ones and finally have the display garden done. Hurray! All cleaned/weeded, sales row done, orders out, beds replanted and the collection of potted plants that has been expanding over the deck all summer (can anyone pass through the garden center without bringing something home Whistling ) are finally planted in the redone beds. This morning started off cool 57F, with the front garden done it's time for cleaning the seedling beds out back. Dug all the 2015 2nd year keepers, finished planting them by 12:30. By then the temp had climbed to low 80's and the humidity was back. Suppose to get warmer tomorrow with a chance of showers on Thursday, then cooler again on Sunday. We really need 3 or 4 days of light steady rain.....

Linda, 104 too hot!

Beautiful Charley!!!

The sunset is a little different today, this glowing band stretched the full width of the horizon. The most amazing thing about it though was that it came after a half inch of rain!
