I skipped to the end of this thread as I don't have a lot of luck with daylilies. But I wanted to report that those who sent me seeds, and even some seedlings, I have bunches of plants now. Only one has bloomed though and it was in a thoroughly bad spot. Amazing. I have dug up lovely fans of St. Francis of Asissi among others. Also Siberian iris I received seeds for and have now many nice seedlings. They will do well.
Just wanted to thank those people for sharing and that I hope with more judicious placement I will have blooms next spring. I place them in sunny spots (well, one not so sunny) and get robust fans but no flowers. Any suggestions. Dahlias, peonies, lamium, iris, lilies bloom like crazy - just the daylilies refuse to bloom.
