My husband and I just bought our first house! Luckily and overwhelming for me we were left with a big garden. So far I've learned we have Foxglove, Peonies, Daylilies and a Lilac tree. My Foxglove have blossomed about halfway so far. It is a beautiful flower. I also just had my first Daylily blossom. That is also very pretty! Unfortunately I'm not able to tell which type I have. There are so many kinds. I would really like to know. Hopefully someone will be able to help me identify which kind I have by the picture. It blossomed on June 24th and I live in a zone 5b..

Plants Admin

With over 82,000 registered daylilies, it's extremely difficult to ID a daylily based on a image. You may get someone that says it looks similar to such and such but unless you grow a suspected one side by side with your plant to compare growth habits, scape and bloom sizes, you may never know the correct ID. Just enjoy the beautiful blooms, give them water and fertilizer, divide them when the blooms diminish. Thumbs up

Welcome to the wonderful world of daylilys!!! You will also find that your fellow Daylily lovers are enablers! Lol. Many people here on this site will offer plants for just postage when it's time to divide again, and that will be this fall. You have been warned. Hahaha. You have a beautiful bloom! Hurray!
