Worst (best?) example I can remember was from a long time ago. Yes alcohol was involved. I am usually very organized. A place for everything and everything in its place. One day I went to use my stapler, it resides in the right front drawer of my desk. Not there! I must have spent an hour looking around my apt. for it, gave up. It wasn't until later that day that I ran across it - in the refrigerator. Here's we blame burglars. Gene

Rosie, Even though it is difficult, hopefully your cousin will learn to deliver a little "Tough Love" where her family is concerned. It sounds like she needs to be concentrating on herself right now. Dealing with the drama that her family members put forth is not going to help her one bit and will only make her health issues worse. Group hug

Lin..well, she had a ticket to go home...went to Fla. to get her stuff and say her goodbyes..then back home to Arizona two days later..

It was the smart solution.
I think it was an excellent solution

She got to Fla and I see she is still there! and so...as we all know..you can lead a horse to water.....

Gene..once...only once...a burglar put the steam iron in the fridge!

Maybe to cool it down??

I am always amazed at the things some of those burglars can do. Pick the lock, get inside, rearrange things w/o taking anything and then relock the door. Gene

I always thought that the juice, milk and liquor levels were lower than I left them. Wake up the next day and wondered if I sleepwalk. Now I know it wasn't me... Those burglars better stay away.

I could only wish a burgler would come in and eat some of the excess in our fridge right now! (how does that happen? one day there is nothing to eat, next thing I know there are so many leftovers we can't deal with them... so, that would be a good thing about living alone, because i would toss all that stuff out! or, more likely, would never have had it in the first place)

I agree! I'm saving the refrigerators and refrigerator freezers for the hot days later this week.

Well if the burglar is going to empty the fridge then he or she should clean it.

As far as extra food goes, I have cats. I'm always experimenting when I cook. If it does not come out right it is called cat food. Gene

I refuse my cats most people food while dining but in failed prep mode or total failure the ferals will eat what my critters decline. Thumbs up

Living alone is a great thing. Some folks just can't. When I bought my house 10 years ago every weekend was an adventure in fixing things I had no experience in and still is. Got stranded 50 miles from anyone I knew in '07 I believe. Ice storm. No power for a week. No way out. Cell phone died and no car charger. I was able to salvage some food from the 'fridge and freezer due to temps and 5' icesickles. Coleman camp stove provided for pancakes, frozen waffles, various thawing meats, and coffee. I ate more than usual. I wasn't starving but I didn't want any expensive groceries go to waste.

With the exception of power company employees trying to fix the lines there was a dead silence. It was peaceful. It was like the world died, but I had a battery-powered AM-FM weather radio. No FM and Basketball killed radio signal by dark. Bedtime, LOL. My nearest neighbors bailed at first chance to eat from the microwave and watch television. Me, I sat and added to my list of how to survive the situation better. It was fun.

Could have been more fun with a girl... Closest to caveman I've ever been. It was fun! If I do catch myself a girl she won't have to worry about how to live through an ice storm... I've got that end in a few boxes.

You should go on the survivor! Rolling on the floor laughing

If you do catch yourself a girl, it would be important to chop snow/ ice to heat on that stove ..because us female types like to wash up at least once a week! nodding
