I refuse my cats most people food while dining but in failed prep mode or total failure the ferals will eat what my critters decline.
Living alone is a great thing. Some folks just can't. When I bought my house 10 years ago every weekend was an adventure in fixing things I had no experience in and still is. Got stranded 50 miles from anyone I knew in '07 I believe. Ice storm. No power for a week. No way out. Cell phone died and no car charger. I was able to salvage some food from the 'fridge and freezer due to temps and 5' icesickles. Coleman camp stove provided for pancakes, frozen waffles, various thawing meats, and coffee. I ate more than usual. I wasn't starving but I didn't want any expensive groceries go to waste.
With the exception of power company employees trying to fix the lines there was a dead silence. It was peaceful. It was like the world died, but I had a battery-powered AM-FM weather radio. No FM and Basketball killed radio signal by dark. Bedtime, LOL. My nearest neighbors bailed at first chance to eat from the microwave and watch television. Me, I sat and added to my list of how to survive the situation better. It was fun.
Could have been more fun with a girl... Closest to caveman I've ever been. It was fun! If I do catch myself a girl she won't have to worry about how to live through an ice storm... I've got that end in a few boxes.
