I am not a big House Plant person, but this morning I had to clean up my office plant - poor guy had a ton of dead leaves on it

When I leave this job, I think they will have to pry this guy from my hands

Wow, that is a gorgeous Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema commutatum)

LOL, I understand perfectly why you'd want to take that beauty with you if you ever leave the job! Green Grin!

Nicely done! I would have taken the leaves home to compost, but I realize not everyone gets that far into it... ;)

(Smacks forehead)

Was not even thinking about that. At home everything goes under our aquaponic system (well a six month system that went belly up)

If the cleaning crew does not come by tonight I can bring it home for our compost or our worm bed

I have a set of friends that call us the Over Achievers because we do so much

For us it is not , Hey I am hungry, lets go get something to eat - to us it's:
Hey I would love this veg. Hmm wonder if we could grow it here...wonder if it would grow in a aquaponic system...oooo let's build one to see.... no that didn't work... let's plant it instead... wait.. start a compost over there and we will use that to till into this over here , oh we can give the soil more nutrients if we had worm casings... lets grow worms .... ok that worked a little but what if we..................................................

But I Love It !!!

Haha. Awesome huge aglaonema!
I inherited the role of plant person. I had to ease into it- not from lack of interest, but of respect for the person who was doing (not doing) the job. It's amazing what certain plants can limp along in! She left the job 18 months ago, needless to say, almost all the plants have been repotted or divided, and most are home for the summer. (despite Will's admonition that plants don't like being moved, sorry!) I've got to start planning ahead on who will go back inside after summer, what pots, etc. One is an aglaonema like that, it sure has grown in 2 years.

I've also thought about asking for compost contributions from the lunch room. But with existing ant and fly problems, it would have to be immediately bagged up and brought every night.
Plant it and they will come.
