It is officially forbidden to transport plants or seeds to another country without official permission. But ...   stubborn gardeners from different countries do it.
I live in Moscow, but my country house is located south of an hour and a half by car. Next week we will get - 20 degrees Celsius (-4 Fahrenheit). Summer can be +30 celsius (86 fahrenheit). Smiling

Your plants definitely wouldn't enjoy it here. The record low here is -18C , summer temperatures commonly reach 40C with humidity averaging 65% so it feels like 67C. It's like living in a sauna.

Here, too, a lot of humidity. Now 90%, in the summer about 80 -85%.
Therefore, in the summer if the heat here is also a sauna. Well, if there are no forest fires (peat can burn in the forests).
North Carolina is similar to the south of Russia.

One man's trash is another's treasure, they say. What's common for one is rare and exotic for someone halfway around the globe. Thumbs up

I'm appreciating my winter weeds, that are fresh and green right now for my chickens who want all I feel like picking. Might start scavenging the less-mowed borders of our school sport fields, bike path, etc
Plant it and they will come.

@GreenTara18 It's always so interesting seeing the native plants of our international friends. Do you happen to grow any wild edibles?

I grow a lot of cultivated plants, but I can not refuse the gifts of wildlife.
In the spring I can gather young nettles, sorrel and wild onions. This can be used for a great soup!
Then Oxalis acetosella appears in the forest (vitamin A, C and folic acid).
Tubers Helianthus tuberosus - love! Smiling
Forest raspberry jam is much better and healthier than raspberry from the garden. In addition, many wild berries, and nuts.
I carefully pick mushrooms to save mycelium.
I collect a lot of medicinal plants for treatment and tea. And I am very grateful to nature for that. Lovey dubby

What do you have? I'm all ears!

Some of the South Carolina natives we grow and eat are vitis rotundifolia, Vaccinium fuscatum, a few different Carya, Asimina triloba, and Passiflora incarnata.
It's funny you grow Helianthus tuberosus too. I grow about 12 different named varieties Here in garden. It's not very popular here in the United States. Do you grow any Diospyros, Eleagnus, Cudrania, or Crataegus? Again these are not common in the US, Diospyros being the most popular of the bunch. I grow all of the above and Prunus, Ficus, Actinidia, Morus, Sambucus, Pyrus, Rubus, Punica granatum, and many many more edibles. I'd hate to take keep going off the subject of weeds, is it okay if I message you and we can talk more?

From all this impressive list I grow Sambucus, actinidia (kolomikta), Morus (for now a small tree), Sambucus, Rubus.
Crataegus, too, I love these autumn fruits. I collect it with a wild rose to make drinks in a thermos.
Irga (Amelanchier) grows behind my fence. but birds are serious competitors for me when the berries ripen. Too many jays in the forest. Big Grin
I wonder what you do with these plants. Smiling

I think this is a off topic. But these plants are almost weeds! *Blush*

What about cornus mas or coruns Kousa do you grow any of those? I'm just now starting to build up my cornus collection and hope to try a few fruits here in the next few years. I know C.mas is fairly popular in your part of the world do you know any named varieties worthy of fresh eating off the tree?

Cornus grows well in southern areas. My country house is located south of Moscow, but still it is a cold zone.

I do not grow Cornus mas, but Russia has good selection work to adapt southern plants for a cold climate. They offer new varieties of Cornus, which I could grow, but it has Russian names.
Thanks to selection work , I get a grape harvest. Before, I could not even dream about it! Big Grin

Russia, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic all have done huge things in breeding cold hardy fruits. I'm glad you are able to grow grapes now. They are a wonderful addition to any garden. It seems like we are both huge fans of growing fruits. I sure hope you will share some photos of your garden next year, I'd love to see some of your fruit trees and shrubs Thumbs up

Daniel, I've lost my local persimmon when a right of way was cleared. Grumbling Would you happen to know a good source for a replacement? Modern "land management " practices have made them rare as hen's teeth locally so I haven't been able to find a replacement in the wild.

you looking for something named or just some wild seedlings? In our area wild trees have 60 chromosomes and produce small fruits about the size of a quarter. Up north they have the 90 chromosome trees hat produce fruits up to 2 inches across with the named varieties producing the largest because of the improved genetics. If you just want seedlings I have some 90 chromosome plants I can send you for postage.
If you are looking for named plants I'd recommend Cliff England's plants because his plants and selection are Superior to other vendors. http://www.nuttrees.net/

Daniel, I'd love to have some of your 90 chromosome types. I think it's important we preserve native fruits.
