Those plants are indeed Typhonodorum lindleyanum; I have one growing in my collection. They are truly remarkable aroids, with pseudostems like banana plants.

I do have more photos from other also interesting plants from the same botanical garden Tee, most of them I don't have the name, mostly my fault as I forgot to look at the labels Rolling my eyes. or the labels were just missing like with this one in the lake..I also have quite some plant pics taken in the wild in the rain forest I have no ID for..

Oh, I've got too many plants to put a number to it - most of them are aroids and most of the aroids are Alocasias and Philodendrons, with a large percentage of those being hybrids that I have developed. See my website: http://aroidiaresearch.org for a taste of what I have. By no means are all my plants listed and/or illustrated there, but you'll get the idea.

I like the inflorescences on them, very large compared with most other aroids. But the down side is they drop lots of seed and become a bit invasive.

Evan,
Not a rumor - i had TWO blooms on my Typhonodorum and one of them seemed to be setting seed, then aborted on me. So I don't have any little ones - yet. The plant has slowed for winter but since it is so large now, this summer should be a good one for potential seeds. Believe it or not, I have a cross in mind, too, if I can get the other potential parent in blooming size for my work.

We believe! Best of luck in your quest and here's hoping the other participant cooperates. Do you keep T. lindleyanum under glass over winter?
