Thumbs up Hurray! Big Grin Wahoo, some one is getting new Sedum. Can't wait to see them Rita. Please, please, please would you take pictures and add them to the database. Baby pictures are great also, so people can see what they look like when young. How's the color coming on your Purple Emporer? Or was it another one you just got? Don't forget to put the date when you add a photo to the database. As in 4/3/10. It will show under the picture. Is a great way to do seasonal comparisons. : )

It was Purple Emperor and it did get darker after sitting around in the light instead of being in the dark box. I will take pictures of them after they arrive. Then I will take pictures of them all after they are planted. Have to figgure out how to do the database thing.

I have been very busy upstairs in my backyard moving some daylilies around.

The database is really easy. Just go to it and look to see if there is already an entry for you variety. If there is just click on add a photo, when downloading your photo there is an info box, that is where you will put the date the picture was taken. If there isn't an entry already for one of your Sedum, it is very easy to add a new variety to the database. After you add the info into the fields I will go in and okay them. As soon as it shows up in the database you can add your pictures. : )
If you don't feel comfortable doing a new entry just let me know what Cultivars you have and I can add them for you. Then all you have to do is add your pictures. Did I make this clear as mud? I'm really good at confusing things. Sticking tongue out

Hi Lynn,
Took me long enough to get here! I think these plants are so cool but would you believe i don't have single one? You just might get me hooked.
I know nothing about them, if they will grow in my area without much attention but I am gonna give it a go!
Nice cubit by the way.

Connie, you can grow even more variety of the succulents than I can. In your area you might place them where they get morning sun and filtered afternoon sun. There are some in the Crassulaceae family that are not winter hardy for me but would be for you. Mmmmm, wonder if maybe we should add some of those to another Database? What do all of you ladies think?
If you go to the Container and Wreath Databases Connie you will see some examples of tender perennial. That would give you choices of plants that can get much larger, different textures and colors. I'm getting excited just talking about it.
If you need help our want to trade for some of these plants just let us know. I'm sure some of us will have extras, as growing season is starting up. : )
Good to see you here. Thumbs up

OK, I want to try them. i am sure I can buy them around when things get going a little more but I kind of like trading, That would have to be later in the season for me to have something to trade. Spring is late here and my stuff is just starting to grow. Let me know what you are whoever would like.

I went back to Bluestone Perennials and ordered more Sedum. I have been thinking on this for at least afew days. I want to put the Lynda Windsor in the front yard, at least most of the six. Will see what fits. But I also liked the idea for another little garden area in the backyard. That one very close to the long garden I am doing now. So I ordered more Sedum from Bluestone. Didn't want to get Lynda Windsor again as much as I like it because wanted something else I don't have. So I ordered 6 of the SEDUM telephium Picolette. That was my next favorite one that I saw there that I do not have. Plus it works for the front of the border, being another not very tall upright type.

I also ordered Geum Blazing Sunset, which can be seen at Annies Annuals. I am going to be adding some to my gardens with the sedum. Its going to look great! I have been thinking on how I will do my combos and this should be very good.

Can't wait to see it all Rita. I will have to go look at those. I don't think I've ever seen Picolette. I have Geum 'Cookie' and love it. It is so low growing it goes very well with the semps. Mmmm, maybe I should see what other colors Geum comes in. I will go look at Annie's Annuals also. : )

Just went to Blue Stone. I love that Picolette, and Cloud Walker is beautiful. I didn't know there were that many Geum. They have the Cooky, the Blazing Sunset can knock you socks off. I really love this plant. I don't know how I feel about the yellow one. It is pretty though.

The Lynda Windsors arrived today from Bluestone. They are quite small and all only one stemmed plants. Plus they were dry to the bone. Good thing sedum is so hardy and grows well. I watered and they are sitting on the back stoop getting some air and light.

These are really dark. Much darker than the Purple Emperor.

Hurray! Picture please, we don't care that it is only one stem. Our eyes want to feast upon it's darkness. Sticking tongue out I bet they are so happy to be out of that dark box with all that fresh air and a good drink of water. : )
I am so excited for you, you'd think it was me that got the package. Lovey dubby
Give Mountain Crest Gardens a try. I have seen pictures posted of what their plants look like when unpacked. Pretty amazing. I will get my first plants from them next month after I get back home.

Oops, sorry I gave Rita a new place to obsess over. Rolling on the floor laughing I was only going to get maybe 4 plants from them and ended up ordering 115. Thank heavens it was a co-op and they were only $1.08 apiece.
I was thinking about doing a co-op from this Cubit, maybe from Squaw Mountain Gardens. Not sure yet. See how things are going when I get back home.
