For the past month, I've watched it rain all around where I am, but not here. Most of my plants are barely still in survival mode. If the sky doesn't break soon, I'm going to have to do something desperate, like wash my car... or leave all of my wood-handle tools exposed!

Even though I have been very fortunate to get some showers (some decent) I am still having to use the hose and city water for some of the beds. I do feel sorry for you missing all the showers.

We've been having those storms with thunder, lightening, wind and no rain. Last night we had a bad storm with 1.75 inches of rain. Don't give up hope. I had spent the day dragging my sprinkler around. Glare

On a side note, we have a salt water pool. This morning I fished 14 little frogs out. Blinking where are all these frogs coming from??!

Thanks, fellow gardeners! Larry, there's fields of shriveled corn along 84 between Opp & Elba that look too far gone to come back even if it does rain. I hope that's not too widespread!

Missy, we had a non-rain storm here a few days ago too! Well, it was rain until it got to Opp, a nice line of it that I watched head this way for a few hours. Then it fell apart, the wind blew through viciously, then the rain picked up on the other side of town & continued on southeast. I watch that happen so many times, from all directions.

I'm painting our front porch today, and hope to go to the pool after. May that will make it rain? ;)

I really don't know why people even try to grow corn without irrigation around here anymore. I often think it has something to do with the crop failure insurance program.

It was 3 weeks ago today that we had any rain and we only had 1/4 inch then. It has thundered and got sort of dark but not a drop has fallen.

It rained for about 10 mins yesterday evening (enough to put about an inch of rain in rain buckets but not enough to get areas under trees wet) & a spritz today got the exposed areas damp a couple hrs ago. Better than nothin, but it's almost nothin.

It rained late yesterday afternoon. Rain gauge measured it as not quite a 1/4 inch. We are in dire need of a soaking rain.

We have had about 3 inches in the past few days. Terrible storms with wind and lightening. I am so thankful for the rain.

It hasn't rained here since....... Ummmm.... It's been so long , I forgot. It's rained 3 miles up the highway but no luck here. We need rain in my corner of the world. By corner I mean corner literally. Grumbling Sad D'Oh! Crossing Fingers!

I was just listening to our local weather forecast this morning. He said it would be 97 today but feel like 101. And next week to expect a heat wave. What? I guess this is a cold front we are having now. Confused Thumbs down

Woo hoo!! 1/2" in the rain gauge yesterday. This is all we have had since July 12. A little is better than none.

We had a surprise gully washer last night and got an inch or rain! Really, it actually did wash a couple of little gullies.

As long as that's not a problem for you, LOL!

A glancing blow here earlier in the afternoon yesterday was nice. Had a few of those lately, enough to keep stuff from wilting.

Who's still takin' an unrelieved bakin'?
