Blooms mid to late May. Possibly biennial. Set bloom last year, but this year only leaves were showing.

These plants are growing along the lane in partial (high) shade. I'd estimate the soil there to be average, and possibly a bit dry.

This plant just showed up here last year, so I only have 2 seasons worth of experience with it.

I haven't seen it growing anywhere else in the vicinity so I'm guessing it's an introduction.

You found it! Hurray!

The second photo shows why I'm always so confused when I look for it first thing in the Spring. Who'd have thought that the leaf structure and coloring would change so much? No wonder I'm always surprised by the size of the leaves when it begins to look familiar!

Very interesting plant!

You rock! I tip my hat to you.

Thank you!
