Had to post this photo- maranta looks awesome today! It was tough this winter, too dry for it. Then, when I finally gave up on worrying about dry leaf tips, it took off!! Now it's happy with summer humidity and is growing like crazy. Just thought I would share..

A beautiful plant, Alyssa! I never had much luck with these. Always had trouble with the browning tips of the leaves too. You're doing a great job with it!

Thank you! The more I messed with it, the more it complained. I re-potted it in a smaller pot so the roots were closer together, and set it aside and just watered whenever it needed it, stopped misting it, and didn't move it, and it picked up! I don't think this is a beginner plant- I think they're in the same category as picky hoyas.

Interesting. I would categorize Hoyas as blissfully carefree but Maranta and I just don't seem to get along.
