Thank you! The more I messed with it, the more it complained. I re-potted it in a smaller pot so the roots were closer together, and set it aside and just watered whenever it needed it, stopped misting it, and didn't move it, and it picked up! I don't think this is a beginner plant- I think they're in the same category as picky hoyas.
