Nothing says I'm back in a subtropical zone like Polydamas Swallowtail caterpillars eating my Pipevine. Hilarious!

Pulling in today and spotting a White Peacock wasn't bad, either.

White Peacocks are always good to gaze upon.

Explored some wild areas along the South Fork River here; got a Buckeye and an unknown moth.

This is two groups I've brought indoors (2 cats to each)
Don't know if I'll wanna keep up with the indoor groups and may put them back outside, but protected. For now, they're in my bedroom with the door closed so the kitty doesn't mess with them. When I was a kid there were plenty of Cecropia caterpillars around and I always brought them inside for the duration, but they stayed put, and didn't travel around like Monarchs. Have any of you out there done this with Monarch cats, or other type cats? which ones? Indoor or outdoor? Any tips to share?

Tiger Swallowtail- Looking beat up a bit, but it just goes to show the scuffs with predators, gusts of wind from the storms etc. that it's endured.

This is a little off topic, but I thought these dragonflies were pretty. I think they are a Male Widow Skimmer, and a Female Eastern Pondhawk.

Jessie, be sure to check out our bee friends (and other friends) thread. We post dragonflies there all the time, along with all the other weirdly fascinating insects in our gardens. A user just posted a RED dragonfly. So cool!

the dion really seemed smitten with the duskywing. it stopped nectaring , flew over to it and just watched it.
