Glad that all got worked out about the pincher bug, that's what we used to call earwigs.

Ronnie, I apologize for overlooking that it was your photo. *Blush* nodding

Sorry for the confusion...I only quoted the photos of another in order to write the IDs.

Ack! It's not a big issue Urban. I'm pretty new here and probably the least technical of anyone until I figure out more techie stuff -which might be never- or I can learn something then it flys out my brain door as fast as it came in. Please stay and be sure to ID some things for us, I get frustrated sometimes and other times I find someone else's unknown bug in a snap Why?? Confused Welcome again Thumbs up
I'm also in the same zone as you.

Gorgeous creature J!! Anybody know what this is? I've seen them the abdomen looks as if it was coated in blue eye shadow.

I wanted to post these yesterday but we had a huge power outage here. Two transformers blew up to smithereens! Muggy muggy and no fun. Sighing!
All the photos were taken at Perelman Park nearby.

I make myself crazy trying to ID some of the Skippers.

Mom found a dead Cicada yesterday and placed it on one of the columns in front of the house. So I took pictures.

Their eyes being so far apart makes them look weird to me. Like some kind of fish.

Mika-Your bumble bees on the Echinops are so different and interesting with those double black stripes! I just LOVE to see what lives in other parts of the world, can you tell us please what they are when you have time to post? Are they in decline in France and UK as well?

Yes, bees are in serious decline here, although you wouldn't know it from our garden - I must share my taste in plants with them! I've been trying to work out what all the different bees are in the pics - there's a white tailed bumble bee, a buff tailed bumble bee, and one that is possibly a queen - I discovered that we have 250 varieties of bumble bee, though some are pretty rare. I've sent off the photo that I'm not sure about to a bee conservation society, who offer to identify them from photos.
