I forgot to mention, they can be brought into flower indoors over winter though I've never attempted that. I did grow some in a hanging basket once. I think they're one of the neatest plants.
Jmorth, I might take you up on that. Provided I remember myself. Lol I have never grown anything from a tuber before. But I have a few places I could put a and trellises up. Perhaps behind the raised lily bed for some year long color. Or other places so I can watch the hummingbirds and butterflies. What are the sun requirements for these J?

Gloriosas are lovely. That is one of the few plants I have never tried.
I have squirrel and bunny trouble with my containers (and everything else ). I have adopted the practice of putting either coco liner material or plastic green mesh cut from fencing rolls around the plants on top of the soil and use landscape fabric staples to hold it down. I can occasionally see where some critter tries to dig in the pot, but it doesn't work if I have done my job well. I don't do that with every pot, but only those that the critters seem to bother most. Caladiums definitely fall into that category, and I'm sure lilies would too.

I’m going to post this on my most used forum threads so I’m sorry if you see it twice. I won’t be my normally chatty self for a while as I have now started my 10 hour days and weekends at work until April 15, the receptionist (our only other support staff) is out for 12 weeks on maternity leave, husband has knee surgery December 23, QUICK trip to Kentucky over New Years with daughter for their Christmas , and still have to wrap all of the presents for 24 people and I haven’t even started yet. I’ll try to read your posts when I can because I love hearing from you all and consider you all my new friends! I’m not ignoring you - just really struggling for time right now and trying not to go completely crazy (I’m only half way there so far! ) If I really need to see something tree-mail me so I pay attention!
Dear Ginny don't worry, I'll step up and continue to order lilies for you while you're gone. I'll ask Ramona to ship on April 16th so you can receive them with celebration in your heart!

I got an email yesterday that they cancelled the garden tour next year so I won't be on it. That eliminates a little stress and gives me time to let it mature a little.
