I just now discovered that the thread, O-T Junction in the Adeniums forum was moved to the Sandbox.

Does this mean that threads that are off-topic within a particular forum will also be moved? Here are a couple of off-topic threads:

OT - The Porch Swing ... Day Lilies forum
Midatlantic Pets ... Midatlantic Gardening forum

Or is O-T Junction being singled out??

Hmm, it was proposed to be moved, and I approved the proposal without giving it much thought since it was clearly off topic.

I don't mind moving it back to Adeniums if you'd like.

Hmmm, I would never have found it in Adeniums. I saw the thread in the Sandbox and posted a question.

Yes, please do move the thread back to the Adeniums forum, Dave. Other forums have off-topic threads within so I feel this one should be allowed to continue.

There are members who do not venture outside their comfort zone, as in the forum or thread they favor. The off-topic threads allow the members, if they so desire, to have a more close affinity and comfort in sharing with other members within the forum they are comfortable in. Sure, others lurk and that's good, even better if they post.

Rainbow, what you might want to do is open a specific thread within the Adeniums forum that is clearly just for chatting. That way, no worries about getting off topic. A lot of plant or region specific forums do this.

Many of the busy forums set up a 'chat' type thread so they can go slightly off topic yet remain in their forum. Maybe the one that proposed the move was not aware of that. It's a nice thing to have. nodding
