When I moved into my current place, there was a bar nearby with "Rock 'n Roll" on the sign out front.

Nice! I checked it out. Live bands on weekends, sounded good.

But I couldn't figure out why all the patrons were OLD!

After all, Rock 'n Roll was what the cool kids listened to.

Eventually I figured out the "old" patrons were mostly younger than I was, and, yes, they had listened to a lot of rock ... 40+ years ago.

And Star Trek is 50?? Star Trek? Star Trek was the FUTURE!!

The future isn't what it used to be.

We used that pink dryer monster as our very first blow dryer, blowing our hair dry without the bonnet. All us girls had long thick hair. That dryer didn't have much wattage or heat at all! It took forever to dry our hair!

I woke up last night remembering not only the chapter and page of an answer in the book 'They Also Ran' to a question I was asked recently, but also when.

The answer was Alton B Parker and Charles Evans Hughes. The question was which 2 judges ran for President of the US and lost.

Now I have to figure out where the QUESTION was... LOL!

It's kind of scary when...I forget I turned on sprinklers outside..really, there have been times that they're still on the next morning! I need timers for SO many things! I put food in the microwave to warm up and then...remember to go rewarm it two hours later! I leave the shed key in the door when I lock it up after getting something out...then find the key still there the next day. I have one of those long orange key whatchamacallits connected to that key so *maybe* I won't lose it.

I call it "operating on autopilot." You do commonplace things without really thinking about them....

At one time I lived about 25 miles from where I worked and would get halfway there and pretty much have no memory of that first part of the trip...

and taking medications is another thing. I have a thyroid pill and 2 different blood pressure pills. Take the thyroid first thing when I get up because you aren't supposed to eat anything, or take any other meds, for an hour after taking it. Then I would have breakfast and go take the other pills. Which I kept in the medicine cabinet. So, 2 hours later I'd be wondering if I had actually taken them or not Rolling my eyes. . Now I put all the pills in the medicine cabinet as I take them, then in the morning put them all out on the bathroom vanity, and after I take them they go back in the cabinet. Things seem to get a little more complicated as we get older! Whistling

I fried an egg and gave to hubby with some mushrooms ...and a piece of toast.

I STILL don't know why 4 minutes later, I cracked another egg in that fry pan.. I was shocked ...but there it was.

Well, you could always offer him another one...or eat it yourself! Thank goodness eggs aren't the big health worry that the fake "experts" once suggested they were!

Yes! Eggs were vilified.
I did give it to him and he was pleasantly surprised. One egg is more than 1/2 way to daily cholesterol recommendation...and so he does not get 2 usually. And, if he had diabetes for sure I would have tossed it. No sense raising hopes for a repeat. Diabetics get nailed with eggs because their risk of heart disease really is significant.

that being said what we Americans often eat with those eggs is far worse!

There is some thought eggs help reduce risk of stroke too.

The old saying goes ..everything in moderation.

Mayo research suggests 7 eggs a week ...that sounds like a good number..but that is all sources
