Karen, Lucky you getting to visit the Smokies every year! I fell in love with the Smokies on my first visit back in the mid 70's. We used to go once a year but haven't been in four years now and I don't know when I will ever get a chance to visit the mountains again. I love the Blue Ridge Mountains too. This is a shot taken in fall of 2005 from the Hendersonville N.C. area:

A long weekend in the mountains ... what a wonderful Anniversary gift to each other! Here's another photo I took in N.C. in 2005. I can't remember the city but we were heading to Brevard N.C. from Hendersonville. This was such a serene and picturesque setting and I just had to take a couple of pictures.

Lin, that is the whole area where our nieces & their families live. Rutherford county, Ashville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure. Some really cool names there like Bearwallow. How about Bat Cave?

Very pretty up there. Lots of rushing creeks, streams.
