While looking through my photos I ran across this , I can't remember what weed it was but the snowflake looking pattern was quite impressive.

I really like the ability to use the camera to capture something then look at it closer to see the detail.

I've got a couple that I'd like to share as well.
These 2 types of "weeds/wildfowers" are growing in the sand along side our 6 ft pool fence.
I won't let my husband hack them down because I think both types are too pretty to do so.
I am just wondering if anyone knows the names of them?
The 1st one looks to be some type of daisy-ish wildflower.

I think the first one is a Fleabane Daisy and the second is not close enough to see clearly.
What color is it, and can you take a closer picture?

Thanks so much for your response and the info, I so appreciate it!
I went out to the fence area around the pool to pull up some of those weeds and much to my surprise, hubby had taken the weed wacker to them.
He left the “wild daisy” but all of those beautiful weeds are now gone. *sniff, sniff*
Go figger, one of the few times he did something w/o me asking him too and I didn’t want it done. *sigh*
@ any rate I was able to grab a few stragglers and take a couple of pics of them so here they are.
My camera tends to blur when I take close ups, admittedly I truly am not a photographer.
The buds actually do not have a color like white or yellow protruding out from them, they are just tanish fuzzy.
The blooms are also tanish in color and fuzzy.

Cinda, your seed-head kinda reminds me of clematis but not the rest of the plant. Hmmm...

Shaw, you might have two species of fleabane. those last pics sure look like fleabane seed-heads.

I know, I shouldn't try ID's since I'm not very good at it.

Shaw, I am sorry but by your description I really can't tell what you have there. The plants remind me of Bachelor's buttons but an not sure at all.
I wish I could have identified them for you.

This is the 2nd summer that I’ve noticed that we’ve had them.
So far, just like last summer they didn’t do anything (but reproduce) and didn’t change from the way they look in the pics.
I figured that they were just supposed to look cute-n-fuzzy like that.
They start w/ a bud and then get fuzzy, nothing else happens to them besides that process.
I did Google and also Bing’d images of Fleabane weeds and did find the exact replicas of the pics I’d taken and have growing in the yard.
However some of the pics I found on the net were much taller and these are shorter.
Who knows, perhaps if we’d of had more rain during the time they were left standing they may have grown taller.
I don’t think they are Clematis or Bachelor Buttons.
Wildflowers, I almost positive that you were “spot on” w/ your 1st response.

I'd figured that out so no prblm there.
Though, to MY old eyes they certainly do look very much alike.
The link you shared shows them to be shorter and mine are indeed short not tall.

Oh that one, it sure does, I apologize for the error.

Oh, it's no biggie. Sorry your plant didn't turn out to be something nicer. Did it have a scent? I think horseweed grows here, it has a sweet orange scent to me? the flowers never actually open and then it goes to seed with those fluffy heads.

I think Horntoad is right about the second plant we call it Horseweed here.

No, no scent but I didn't bend down to smell them and if I did because they are so fuzzy they'd prbly get sucked up my nares and I'd be sneezing and choking to death.
The buds don't open up as flowers so as to speak they just open up as the lil' fuzzy thingies.
Even though they are considered weeds I still think they are pretty lovely.
*My husband does not think that they are pretty lovely @ all.*
Many people think dandelions are flowers VS weeds so I guess we all think different things and like different things. ;-)
That's what makes the world go round.
