My Grape Echo is sending up a stalk, but I doubt if it will bloom before it gets colder. Another two weeks like today was, and it would bloom! Crossing Fingers!

Yeah, Tom. The cold is coming. (Shudder). I have Patty Ann with some color showing on the bud. I'm thinking of cutting it before the deep freeze. So, how is your grape echo growing? It's one of my highly coveted irises.

I Got my Grape Echo last year from Sherry, and it bloomed last fall right away and had two increases. It's Growing nicely and maybe I can share some next year, We'll see Smiling

I still have a single bloom stalk on my newly planted Cantina - although the stalk was there when we last flew to France on 27 October, the buds have still to open! There is at long last a bit of colour beginning to show on a couple of the buds. I think it's taking its time because of the low temperatures (hovering around 50 F). I also have four bloom stalks on the ever-reliable Rosalie Figge (which I have both here and in France) - I hope the buds open before it gets too cold for them. Smiling

Autumn Twilight [GP Brown] is still showing its colors, as is Bountiful Harvest [Hager] in one of itse locations. Sugar Blues [Zurbrigg] has finished, as has Baby Blessed [Zurbrigg]. Eleanor Roosevelt just decided to join the party a bit late. Should get at least one bloom fully open before the next heavy frost expected on the weekend.

I just came back from the polling place, and wouldn't you know it, there were some large clumps of Eleanor Roosevelt in bloom, and I didn't have my camera. Lots of blooms too! Shrug!

I love the new and frilly iris as much as anyone, but it is so nice to see a plant that will rebloom consistently in the Fall. It doesn't matter to me if it is an oldie.

gemini_sage said:Awesome Mary Ann! Since we're having such a mild fall it looks like they may finish their rebloom cycle before getting frozen.

Wow, KY must be warmer than us then. We have had a few nights of frost and freeze this week. So am happy that Again and Again, and Las Vegas are not trying to bloom this fall.

Somewhere on here I posted some photos of a piece I dropped in my field that was putting up a bloom stalk. It opened up and it's Echo Location. There's another iris in one of the new beds putting up a stalk now too.

Your irises are looking nice and healthy Daphne. Thumbs up The multiple bloom stalks on one rhizome happens here too. Good to see yours also put out some increases. If Tiger Play has already bloomed for you this season and it's doing it again, then it's reblooiming...otherwise, it's just a bit confused.

difficult to see, perhaps a 2nd stalk or a 2nd bloom on the same stalk.

Leslie, first frost came late here this year, but the last few nights it has gotten down around 30F.

Mary Ann, that is gorgeous! There is something unique about it, not like typical purple plicatas.
