Ammar. Could your plant be an amaranthus? Some types are edible but I pull them out pronto as they spread out and seed everywhere given a chance.

It could be one of the several plants that are sometimes referred to as morning glory, as SpringGreenThumb suggested. Such as Convolvulus arvense, field bindweed. But it's difficult to see the characteristics on Ammar's picture - I think I can see a groove on the upper side of one of the petioles which would be right, but I'm not certain. The stem doesn't look very twisty though. I hope Ammar is able to re-find the thread and give us some more information, such as location.

Now I'm confused the Native plant ID says bindweed is a subspecies of morning glory. Is bindweed not a true morning glory?

"Morning glory" is a very generic name used primarily for various species of Ipomoea, and sometimes for members of other genera with similar looking blooms. Similar to "daisy." At least a dozen genera have one or more members using that.

Please, whose plant are we trying to identify on this thread? Ammar's or someone else's?
Maybe we can split this thread into two?

I think Ammar plant is Ipomoea aquatica. A kind of morning glory that use as vegetable here. Usually grow in water. But some variety also grown out of water. Smiling

When I'd originally asked about white sap, I was thinking Ipomoea but Ammar never came back to participate in the ID process.

Ammar, where is this plant growing?
Ipomoea aquatica is also known as 'water spinach'.

The thread was moved from Ask a Question. I wonder whether @Ammar will know where to find it now. I think the system relies on people checking the threads they are following, which requires starting out at the home page instead of going straight to the forums. I've noticed a few new members seem to lose track of their initial posts.

I am relying on the 'Welcome Wagon' (Katie) to assist the new members with stuff like that. Thumbs up

Looks like we are identifying both plants.
I lost track of threads when I was new.
Perhaps someone should send him a tree mail to let him know where his thread went?

I already sent a TreeMail to the OP.

Please consider this to be friendly advice:
As far as "identifying both plants" it would be best for SpringGreenThumb to start a new thread if she want her plant to be identified. Having both on the same thread will no doubt confuse the new member. Thumbs up

I thought they were the same plant. 😊.

It's normal on plant ID threads for persons to make incorrect ID's and for those who might know better to correct it. I see it all the time but your advise is well taken. 👍🏻👍🏻
