Ooh, nice finds y'all! I have nothing to share; I haven't bought a new plant in a long time ... I need to make a trip to the local nursery or garden center. Green Grin!

I think you'll have great fun with that Kal, grows quickly & makes dramatic aerial roots.

Ok ... I hadn't bought a new plant in a long time but today I got two new ones! My sister volunteers at our local Humane Society Thrift Store and this morning I went to drop off donations I told her I was bringing in. I usually shop while I'm there and my first stop is always the plant table set up outside ... yeah, apparently folks donate plants too! Anyway I got a Pencil Tree (Euphorbia tirucalli) and a Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) for $5.00 each. I also bought two cute little snowmen ornaments at $1 a piece. I think the plants were a good deal for their size and I couldn't resist the Snowman ornaments to add to my collection! Green Grin!

Over the weekend, I got these two new plants..just cannot leave that nursery without something to bring home. Big Grin Have repotted them yesterday and both are now positioned in the shady side of my little garden, close to the house.

Aspidistra elatior 'Variegata' - variegated cast iron plant
Thumb of 2016-11-08/tarev/8a2768
after repot, in that shady corner where I have tried several plants already, either I fail due to our extreme dry heat months or just too poor light there or during winter too cold..hopefully this is the one that can thrive better in it!
Thumb of 2016-11-08/tarev/f88858

Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers' - foxtail fern

We have more humid heat here in GA, so maybe it's not comparable to where you are, but they both seem to do well here with our 100+ temperatures.

Ah good to know that..our heat here is very dry heat that goes triple digit and higher during summer, no rain for 6 to 7 months, then our humidity finally improves in mid Fall to early Spring when some rains return and as winter ensues, the occasional freeze warnings.

I think the Asparagus Ferns types seem difficult to kill, the only thing I've had issues with is explosive root growth and thus drying out too often for me to keep up.

I think that the 'Cast Iron' plants here look a little rough certain times of the year, browning or yellowing, but they seem to stay filled with foliage year round.

I was waiting for my Caladiums to retire for the season, and planning to move the Aspargus fern container in that spot. But they are still holding on, got to wait a bit more!

tarev, what great additions to your pretty garden! I've never tried the Cast Iron Plant; I never seen them here in Florida and I wonder why they aren't popular down here. I really love that variegated one and your Foxtail Fern! Lovey dubby

Our temp's have dropped a little bit here to the lower 80's, instead of the mid and upper 80's but it's still very humid most days. Sticking tongue out It would be so nice if the humidity weren't so bad!
