Patience Rita, it's always hard to lose a pound or two, eventually you will get there. Thumbs up

I have been doing my exercise for about an hour everyday, I need to up the amount of time and intensity but it is difficult with my asthma and the arthritis.

Where is @ViolaAnn she has not posted in awhile, hope she is just busy. Shrug!

Or maybe she's traveling again?

I'm glad your leg is doing better Margaret. I'm still not exercising but will be starting slowly soon. I got my sutures removed today. Progress.

It's a beautiful day, 78° . That's incredible for November in Cincinnati. It motivated me to clean my windows today. I'm so happy to have gotten them done again before winter. I sure hate having dirty windows all winter.

Of course, that will ensure that the 80% chance of rain tomorrow will absolutely happen.

Good for you doing well with your exercises.

I have not done any formal exercises in a very long time. Between the garden and walking my dog for exercise that is all I do.

For instance working in the garden again digging and also then crawling around on my hands and knees resetting my edging pavers. I have moved the line of them in from were they used to be. It doesn't sound like much but it is constant up and down. Then the digging out of things that don't belong anymore. Enough for me to have come inside just now extra tired.

I know I am in pretty good shape. My clothes are actually looser than when way back I did hit that 120. So more muscle and less fat. But I am determined the scale needs to say 120 (or below) so I will keep at it.

It has already been many weeks!!

You are doing great, Rita. Keep doing what you're doing, and you will reach your goal. Those last couple pounds are always really hard to get off.I need to start doing what you're doing! I've had back pain recently, so a few pounds have crept on while I have been not so active.

For me it is as much of a lifestyle choice as to healthy eating and exercise as it is about the weight on the scale. I know it will get there but I just get impatient!!

I take two smoothies a day. That first for my morning meal. Then by dinner just before I eat real food I chug down by Garden of Life Raw Fiber.

Plus I take lots of supplements in pill form.
So I really think I am getting healthy nutrition.

Karen, glad to hear you got the stitches out and all is well.

I have found the probably cause of my foot and leg cramps, it is my asthma med Simbicort, I Googled last week and there are many people on it with the same problem, I have tried taking one doze rather than the two, but so far not much difference, every night the cramps try and knot up my feet and legs, mostly I can straighten my legs out or bring my toes up toward my knees and it helps stop the cramp. The Simbicort has been good for my breathing and the coughing, so I don't know what to do, I will talk to my doctor when he gets back from his vacation.

Maybe at least if you know the cause then something can be done.

Probably stop taking it is the only fix Rita, and go back to the less effective med which wouldn't make me too happy as I was left with little energy because I wasn't getting enough oxygen on it. Thumbs down

Or you could try to treat the symptoms with noninvasive stuff

PT again, and whatever they recommend
Maybe compression sleeves
Maybe try magnesium and/or CoQ10, ask your doc
Muscle relaxant? ask your doc
Yoga toes

I think the PT and all the other noninvasive stuff has helped my muscle cramps. The rest (since surgery) has probably helped me, too.

I tried the Magnesium and it didn't work, the leg cramp pills help a little. Not sure I would like muscle relaxants, how do they make you feel? I would not go to PT with the long drive, it kills the whole day for me and because of my IBS it becomes stressful.

I see I haven't been here in 10 days. Wow! Had a troublesome molar extracted on the 24th. Last week I took the rest of Monday and some of Tuesday a bit easy. Wednesday at the FC. At this time of year my primary job there is recording donations and taking them to the bank. There are times that I interview clients, but they have enough people most of the time that I'm able to let others do that while I do the other stuff.

Last week, I spent a lot of time practicing as I had a concert on Saturday evening and we also had our first rehearsal for the Frank Bridge songs for viola, piano and alto that we will perform on Nov. 16. On Thursday morning, we had our first rehearsal earlier than originally planned as there was a funeral at my church for a founding member who died at 96. I tolled a bell near the end of the service.

On Friday, there was another funeral. It was the husband of someone who rings with my group, attends our church but who also directs bells at another church. We put together a combined bell ensemble of half my ringers and half her ringers. The selection was one we had all played in a massed concert last May. So, my regular bell practice got cut short to rehearse this group on Thursday evening and we also went through it again on Friday morning and tolled a bells.

Saturday was the orchestra concert with a dress rehearsal in the morning.

Sunday, my bell ensemble played in church and another bell was tolled - all Saints Sunday - as the names of recently deceased people were read.

Exercise - well, I got in a good walk before having the tooth extracted. I wasn't supposed to work out for a few days; so I didn't do aquafit on Wednesday but I hiked to the pool for coffee afterwards - a good 45 minute walk.

The rest of the week was limited to playing bells or the viola. But this week, we walked on Monday and I did aquafit this morning. Then I came home and worked about 5 1/2 hours in the garden as it was mild and sunny. We've had a steady diet of rain and cold for most of the 3 weeks we've been home from Italy. I booked off the FC today to take advantage of it. I reckon I can record cheques and go to the bank in the cold rain tomorrow.

I'm glad you're doing OK Ann.

Margaret, I hope you find some relief. I know how bad those cramps are.

I know you can't get quinine over the counter anymore but I am wondering if the doctor can prescribe it? It really works.

I went back to the gym today, first time since surgery. I took it pretty easy as I'm supposed to. At least it's a start.

Spent 2 hours doing yard work today and then Lily and I went to the dog park. Lily does the running around but I do a lot of standing and walking. The walking is fine but the standing really gets me extra stiff and sore. But we have so much fun.
