Karen, if the surgery is a medical necessity I would have to pay nothing, I would probably have to wait for quite some time to have it done because of doctor shortages.

Today I changed the bed and did laundry, lots of up and down stairs, plus my usual household chores.

So I have been working on loosing that extra 5 pounds that slowly creeped up cause of my eating dunuts and ice cream.

I had figured if I just stopped sweets it would go but that didn't work and I had to get serious. I have been heavily replying on my superfood green drinks, you know like healthy smoothies to cut calories, add nutrition and generally make it all good.

What I have been doing is eating one meal mostly, which is dinner. And not being a pig about dinner either. Rest of the day it is shakes for my meals.

Usually I add the extra protein powder, I have been using extra Whey Protein. Yesterday I forgot and didn't put in enough of the Raw Meal either.

Ended up on the Grumpy thread for being extra crabby all afternoon! So today I really loaded up my smoothie and I wouldn't get extra hungry.

I have been using Silk Soy Milk but decided to try Almond Milk. So yesterday at the Supermarket I bought both and this morning tried the Almond Milk. I never got it as I was sure I wouldn't like it but I was wrong. I have the Vanilla flavor and really I pretty much just taste the vanilla. So the Almond milk is a hit.

Rita, I can't drink or eat soy, my stomach gets very bloated and gassy, so I drink the plain almond milk, I tried the vanilla and found it too sweet for me.

Soy doesn't bother my digestion, I am fine with soy that way. But I just don't want to consume too much soy.

I really hate the taste of nuts including almonds so I had to get the vanilla flavor. I get the vanilla in the soy milk also. And I really like the extra sweetness. Not surprising about that as I do have quite the sweet tooth and love my sweets.

Oh and I just don't drink dairy milk as I hate the taste of it. I use it in some cooking so I do keep a small amount around.

Well for exercise I went around and collected bagged pine needles and bagged leaves in the neighborhoods here and then unloaded and spread them out. It makes me sore by the time I am done. I think a soak in a hot tub is in order.

Day 1 of the new weight loss plan is putzing along. There is a drink that you take in the morning, and again in the afternoon. I found that it DOES cut my appetite and cravings. They had cookies and frosted doughnuts in the office at the sale barn and they didn't even look all that enticing. Score one for me, eh? Green Grin! And they were even raised doughnuts, which I find VERY hard to pass up. Cake doughnuts............Meh...............no problem leaving THOSE in the box. Rolling on the floor laughing

I had my eyelid surgery on Monday. I look like someone beat my head with a sledge hammer! Hilarious! My upper and lower lids are sutured and swollen almost shut and both eyes are purple. I've got my Halloween costume already! I have to put Bacitracin ointment on the suture lines and it melts into my eyes and makes everything blurry, so can't really read a book. I have the font on my computer HUGE to see this.

I'm also not allowed to exercise this week, or lift, etc., and I have to sleep sitting up. Haven't had much appetite though as I'm mostly lying in bed listening to TV. (can't really see it) or sleeping from the narcotics.

I made some vegetarian veggie soup last week and froze some. We'll have that for lunch. And dinner will be chicken marsala that I made last week and froze, too.

I sure hope this is worth it.

I am sure it will be worth it all once you heal up and see the results. Not something I would really want to go thru though.

Rest and heal up quickly.

I had my morning protein and super green food smoothie shake again as I have been doing lately. What I found is that if I put in less liquid it really gets too thick and I don't like drinking it. So more liquid is better. Makes it go down more easily even though that means there is more to drink and make go down.

Remember it is not the most yummy delicious wonderful to taste stuff but it is extra good for me. So I am happy with it.

Afterwards I ate a piece of French toast. I Made some yesterday afternoon and put the pieces in the fridge to take out one at a time and eat like this.

So now going to go out and work outside in the garden. It seems I always have something to do out in the garden even though I have been working on my fall garden projects for weeks now. Oh well, it certainly keeps me from sitting on my duff. Hilarious!

Worked in the garden for a time this afternoon but wasn't too ambitious. Instead of doing more I went off for an exercise walk with Lily dog. So we walked only for an hour and a half. Could have walked longer but it is chilly out and now that the sun has disappeared it is just feeling even cooler. I decided we would rather be inside.

Karen, I am sure it will be worth it, your eyes will look 20 years younger. Hilarious!

We had to go appliance shopping today, our 19 year old freezer was calling it quits, and then the 9 year old dishwasher died on Monday. We bought both today but they wont be delivered until Nov. 9th, so it's hand washing until then, DH is doesn't mind doing the dishes which is great. Thumbs up

Geez, losing both at once is a bummer. I've never had a separate freezer. Our refrigerator is from 1998, so I'm sure it's not going to last much longer. We've started looking at them, but couldn't decide. There are so many sizes and styles and features to pick now.

I am getting over a viral sinus infection. I forgot how bad they could be. It was like the flu but with no fever. I didn't even turn on the computer for two days.

Karen, because we live in a small town with one grocery store where everything is very expensive it pays to keep 2 smaller freezers, abut 13 cubic feet, I have lots of space downstairs in the laundry room, so when we go to Costco and the larger grocery stores in Kamloops we can stock up on everything, especially good during the winter, plus I can cook extra meals and freeze them. And yes, there sure are a lot of models and makes of fridges out there. We decided to go with Kenmore frost free freezer, they had a big sale on, the dishwasher is also Kenmore brand but made by Bosch which was one of the top rated, stainless steel interior and door, my other appliances are steel. There is a new satin black on the market that looks very attractive.

Kelli, sorry you have been plagued by those darn sinus infections, hope it clears up quickly this time. Group hug

Today's exercise consisted of being cold much of the day while we went to the dog park so Lily could run around. Then going out and working on pruning shrubs out in one section of the front yard. I didn't get the section that needed doing finished. I just ran out of steam from feeling cold.

Rewarded myself my going to Subway and getting s Subway Sandwich which I already ate.
