Hi, you know I'd be happy to add more to my seeds for this year. My pots are just waiting!

I live outside the internet friendly urban and suburban areas of Florida. I've been using Hughes.net which works pretty consistently except during heavy rains. It always comes back, you just need a little patience on the rare occasions of really bad weather. I use DirecTV for our TV services and it has the same issues but they are always improving the equipment. We have far less outages and it may manifest in a few minutes for a big thunderstorm to pass by (think of having your satellite under water in a pool and you get the idea of that huge column of rain) to a couple of hours when an unending line of storms occur. It works and it's a small price for living in the country where a siren is an event not a daily or hourly occurance. Best of luck to you and hope your move is uneventful.

Hi Barb, we will have Direct TV and Dish as our only choices so far. Everyone we talk too says to get Dish so we'll see when we get there.

Seeds??? Did you want some??? I still have some left. A lot are seedling crosses but from named varities. If you would like some let me know and I will treemail you info on how to pay postage.

I'd take DirecTV over Dish. They seem to always be working on improving things and service has been excellent. We have had them since they were PrimeStar. Where I live I can't take advantage of the ATT phone connection since Verizon has the best reception (maybe only decent reception). There are a couple of marginal cell phone carriers but driving down the road, you see them standing in their yards on their cell phones.

I don't mind the seedling crosses from known parentage. You can still make some reasonable guesses on how you want to cross them. I have plenty of room here and would love to plant some of your seeds. My new seedling bed will be in the pasture where the horses are now and I'll move them over to the bigger field. There leavings should make the soil a bit better but I'll be getting more mushroom compost to work into the soil before that one is inaugurated as a new daylily field.

Soon I'll be down to 2 horses from 3 (used to be 8). If you know someone who would like a beautiful silvery grey Arabian stallion free to good home, send them my way. He is 4.5 years old, untrained but friendly. Steve's illness got in the way of working with him. He is smart and needs someone to train him, love him and be a friend. He is not registered although he could be if the new owner wanted to follow up on that. I'm old enough now that I would rather he was placed with a younger person and I'll keep my 17 and 20 year old horses. I wouldn't worry if something happened to me.

I know of a local farm that teaches riding and has only "rescue" animals. Is he too old to be gelded? I'm not sure if they are equipped to handle a stallion. Of course, getting him here from FL would be an adventure in itself, but I was curious about the gelding question.

They can gelded at pretty much any age, it just usually works better when done early.

Here's an article explaining it. http://animals.mom.me/age-shou...

Thanks -- totally makes sense that behavior issues might not change with older horses, much like trying to neuter a tomcat.
