I think my two Oxypetalum buds will open tonight! Notice how the white is beginning to show? Here is a pic of each bloom.

Here's the photos of the different Epis and other asst. plants growing on the plant stand. Until they bloom, I won't know what they are.

This is the Oxypetalum that has bloomed over summer. It's taller that me and I'm 5'5" I couldn't get the whole plant into the photo.

Beautiful bloom, I have one that has never bloomed and a beautiful red one that was bought as a small plant that had a bud and it was blooming it's head off.

It was on my front porch and while out of town, it and two other potted plants are gone . No one has every lost anything like that aound here

@Bubbles, that means I need to replace them soon. Do you remember where I got the red epi? I think it was Seguin. Right?

I just read the pevious page and saw the pix, I see a passie in there, lol

@froggardener - I would be more than happy to send you some free cuttings to help you start over since some creep(s) stole your plants.
I can offer unrooted cuttings from E. Hookeri, E. Oxypettalum, and (I think) a Red NOID that has possibly been ID'd by someone. Maybe something else but would have to inventory and if I go outside to do that now I might be attacked by skeeters. I'm pretty sure I have an extra crinum bulb with roots. Also have various and sundry seeds. Just let me know.

Of course you will need to send me a TreeMail with your address.

BTW - where is Mountain City, TX?

@froggardener Probably Seguin for the Epi. Nothing much is marked there, except for color, and that's not a given.

In Post #1291821 (23) above, the second photo shows a leaf structure of the Oxypetulum. I noticed what looked like an emerging bud. I had already moved the pot to the side yard because it already bloomed twice this year. Went out to look and there are buds all over it again. No fertilizer, no extra watering. I wonder if it always blooms again and I just miss it because I'm busy getting things ready to put away for winter.

That's good to know. Mine bloomed for the first time ever on September 7th. I had one bud. Then two weeks later I noticed 3 more buds. One dried up, but the other two opened on October 5th.

I checked back to see when I took bloom photos. The first blooms were June 1st. Second round was August 19th. And now in October, we should have blooms in a few weeks at the latest. Fingers crossed!

Fall is when Eucodonia 'Adele' is at her peak bloom.
Thumb of 2016-10-15/needrain/405ead

And fall is when 'Adele's relative xAchimenantha 'Inferno' reaches peak. Both usually have to be brought inside to protect from killing frost.
Thumb of 2016-10-15/needrain/d10132

Brugmansia 'Adora'. There were two blooms in early Sept. and there is another one today, but about ten more will come along in about 10 more days I think. 'Adora' hasn't been nearly as prolific with blooms as the yellow one or 'Eternity', both of which have about a couple of dozen or more buds that will probably be blooming also in another 10 days. Not a brug bloom, but this little fellow was trying to be one :)

I've had daylilies blooming since May. That's extraordinary to me. This one is 'Whip City Dapper Dan'. A big, wide bright colored bloom like this only requires one to be visible.
Thumb of 2016-10-15/needrain/a2da4e

I haven't been especially happy with the plant itself, but Passiflora 'Lady Margaret' has supplied a steady supply of blooms and shows no sign of quitting yet. Never many at one. That'd be nice if it would.
Thumb of 2016-10-15/needrain/1392d8

No new photos, but the toad lily, Mandevillas and Crossandra are all still providing bloom. I'm hoping the toad lily decides to put on a show. There are enough buds to do that, but so far it's behaving like the Passiflora - just a couple a day.

My Toad Lily is full of buds too. I'm hoping a lot of them open at the same time. I'll post a picture if they do.

Post a photo of the plant anyway. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but they don't have to come indoors for the winter months. That's a big plus for me Big Grin . I'm pretty short on room. I'm liking mine and it blooms when most things are shutting down. Doesn't hurt that the blooms are so cool. Sort of like a cross between a Passiflora and an orchid Big Grin . I'd just like to know more about the growth habits.

The few (toadlilies) I dug up to move have bloomed. They didn't miss a beat. They don't look as healthy as usual but they made it and next year they will be gorgeous

Here are photos of my toad lilies. They grow long arching branches from a central base. Mine seem to be the same color as froggardener's, though I've seen pictures of many other colors. These were planted in April 2015 from a small start that I brought from my Austin garden. I wish I knew what was causing some of the leaves to dry up and turn that ugly brown. Maybe too dry or too much direct sun?

Thanks for the toad lily photos. One of my long branches got eaten off and then a bunch of the buds on another got eaten off. I moved it to a less satisfactory location for me, but so far whatever was munching on it hasn't resumed. Still quite a few buds and several blooms open today. I didn't drag the camera out to take a photo. My leaves also get brown tips. I've thought it was the heat and getting too dry. It did really well when we had all the rain and humidity early.
