Found a big plant while visiting a castle and gardens. Any idea what it is? Tried euphorbia but not finding a match.
Any idea?
Would also like to know what to do with the cuttings. Just stick them in soil? Cactus mix?

What an odd plant! You are right, not a Euphorbia (wrong flowers) but I don't know what it is.

Euphorbia also have white sap. Did that plant bleed white? Its really very interesting. I hope we can figure it out.

Love it. We used to have the one with pink flowers....Colletia hystrix rosea

Yours is a shrub ......Colletia paradoxa.

The triangular bits are actually flattened stems not leaves.

How very kind of them to give you a cutting!
I dread to think what would happen to plants if everyone helped themselves.

RHS advice...."Propagate by semi-ripe cuttings of short sideshoots in late summer "

Wow. Many thanks. Definitely IDed.
Funny thing, there's a huge one with pink flowers and thinner thorns right here in a park. Smells divine. I knew these 2 were related :)
Thanks!!!
