I would like to see us work together on this we need to get with Sharon after we work on it.
I think each of us should handle their article in their own style but still tie them together some way.
I like to write as if I am guiding a tour, adding interesting things along with the pictures. Keeping it fun.
Sharon told me they like the articles be a surprise so we need to work on that.

I am not sure how to work it but think that each of use can do our own articles for our areas but tie them together with a title that starts off the same.
My year is also running down so we will have most of the winter to think and plan.. I am looking at my pictures and still working on ideas of how to use them. There is no rush to get started on this one.
Thought if you do have pictures you can go to the Article management area and play around to see what you like a article look like.

Kathleen I liked that. I have a list of flowers I look for every year. But I have no place to do as you did.
This tiny thing is the first flower to bloom each year. I do not remember it's name right now, thought my pet name for it is Pop flower, as if you gently put pressure on both sides of a flower bud they will pop open

Hi folks: I see most of the wildflowers are sun tolerant. . Great pictures and beautiful gardens.

I have attached some woodland wildflowers from my zone. Mayapples, Geum "Prairie Smoke",variegated solomon seals, jack-in-the-pulpits and more. I will try to get back here when I have more time also. These are a few of the ones I grow in Illinois. I have a really old computer and I have removed some files to disks so I will have to look them up.

Do any of you folks either grow or have grown Bellwort? Have any luck with it in your zones? Do you think it would be hardy here in Illinois?

I believ they say we are zone 5a. Who knows anymore the way temperatures are anymore. 70 and 80' in January, February or March. Plants get so confused anymore. I am about 50 miles southwest of Chicago. She is warmer there. Does she considere this to be invasive or a slow grower? Would love to chat with her and gardeners close to me.

I think I may be closer than she, I am 5a (Middle of Indiana) I know she is warmer she is about 10-14 days ahead of me in blooms.
She has several acres of woods we regularly mushroom hunt in the spring. The bellwort is much fewer than trout lilies or may apples.

gardengus: Dis she comment on how invasive the Bellwort is or isn't? Did not want to plant it without having some referrals from gardeners that have some actaul hands on knowledge of the plant. Perhaps no more than the Solomon's Seal? Could you ask her for me what she thinks about the bellwort. Does she have any pictures to share of them? Yes, Mayapples do colognize after they get establisehed. That is what I like about them. Nice chatting.

Bellwort spreads in my garden, but fairly slowly. It's less aggressive than Solomon's Seal and far less aggressive than Mayapple.

wren said:Everyone I want to run a idea pass y'all. I have thought of starting a series of wildflower Articles,
each areas could be covered by different people. It could be done monthly, or maybe ever few months each person would take pictures of flowers around their area and write a simple article around the pictures.
We could tie it all together under one title and lead in paragraph(?)
I am working on my first one it will be called. "Stop and Smell the...Weeds, Northeastern Florida late July 2011"

If anyone is interested in joining in this project please let me know. I would be glad to help. I would love to see people from all over the country take part. I can give you my lead in paragraph to add to your article

Wren, I would love to be part of that!!

Hurray!

There really isn't much in the wild here that would look good enough to take photos of. The Skeleton Plant does bloom from time to time still...love it! But otherwise only plants in the yard really would look good enough to photograph. We just entered Stage 3 water restrictions, so not sure how the yard will look after a while of that, either.
