My mother in law ask me to repot this guy and give him some tlc. IDK what his name.is though. Ty and anyone who already knows care instructions would be appreciated also. Its also ok if I just google it so I really just need a name. Ty everyone! !!!

Looks like an amaryllis, if it is, the pot is to big for the plant, leave approx 1-1 1/2 inches between bulb and pot sides. Additionally the top1/4 to 1/3 of the bulb should be showing.

Uhhh I'd planned on putting him into a larger pot. Would you say he should be repotted in to a smaller pot maybe ??

I repotted this plant and my mother in law has him in living room for now but I told her the best idea for him is in the basement. Which is where I live so works out ok. he is sitting deep inside a larger pot mostly hidden from any light now . I did put him in a smaller pot with no fertilizer.
