I gathered some seeds from an Aloha Lily and planted them in Spring. This is the growth that I have so far, but it has been this way since May-June. Is something else going to grow later on? What's happening here? Thank you!

I looked up Aloha Lily as I never heard of it, do you mean Eucomis? If so, I always called them Pineapple Lily. http://garden.org/plants/brows...
I would think as seedlings, they have to build up to a bulbs size before they get big enough to bloom so it's probably doing just that.

I agree with Sue. The bulbs and leaves have to balance one another. The leaves will grow when the bulbs are big enough to support more leaves.

Ok TY! It was purchased at Wal-Mart and the tag said "Aloha Lily." That wouldn't be the first time they had something tagged to have a wider appeal.😀

Actually Terri, Aloha Lily is the name for a series of dwarf Eucomis plants also known as pineapple lilies. They include the cultivars 'Leia' with burgundy blooms, 'Nani' with soft pink blooms, and 'Maui' with white blooms. Congrats on your successful germination of the seeds. I don't know if they will look the same as the parents or even remain dwarf plants. Please keep notes and keep us posted of future progress.

@Deebie thank you very much! Are the seeds generally difficult to germinate? My apologies to walmart- I mis-understood. The plant that these came from had pink blossoms, but you are saying it could be either of the three colors? Also, should I thin this mass out at all or just leave it alone? I plan on bringing the pot in over winter since it does freeze here in NGa.

E. 'Leia' was the 1st in the series and is the one most readily available. I've yet to see the others in the big box stores. I've never gotten around to germinating seeds of eucomis, so I'm not sure how difficult it is, but any seed germination is an accomplishment to be commended, as it means a new life. Since it is fall and most plants are slowly going dormant, I would recommend waiting until spring to transplant them as the root system can sustain damage and if the plant is not actively growing won't be able to repair itself in order to continue sustaining the leaves. Bringing the pot in over winter the 1st year to keep the plants from going completely dormant and to avoid frost damage is a good idea.

It will be a while before the plant is mature enough to bloom, as a bulb has to form beforehand. Perhaps @JMorth will be better able to advise you, as he grows several of these beautiful plants. Keep us posted of your plants progress.

I've a boatload of different Pineapple lilies that usually have their flowering scapes cut off (for aesthetic purposes). A lot of the scapes get use as a cut flower (they can last a month in cleaned water). I've never checked or attempted growing more Pineapples from seed.
My Pineapples replicate themselves with offsets at a pretty good clip. Leia grew offsets that ended up breaking their ceramic home due to expansion.

However, I have grown Gloriosa tubers from seed. I don't know if rate of growth between the Pineapple and Gloriosa would be comparable but seed from the latter formed a small tuber the first year, not flowering size yet. I let it rest (dormant) a few months (dry, over winter in basement) and planted it with other Gloriosa tubers.

Thank you again for your help and interest in my new adventure! I will be happy to update you. I get down on myself so often because I can't grow easy things (like milkweed!) from seed. Then, I'll take random seeds from different plants, people and places and throw them in dirt - and they germinate! I believe I over-think things sometimes. I'm just tickled that these seeds took and might even give me some gorgeous lilies as well. We shall see.....
