Here is one that I hope will open by Friday. It is definitely a split petal mutant Ipomoea nil.

You are welcome Joseph. And thanks again for sharing so many pictures of your plants - this plant flowered here in my home as a result of that I tip my hat to you.

Yes - it is nice... also the leaves are yellowish and a nice complementary color to the blue.

Thank you Ronnie Smiling

Joseph, In relation to a name - I was actually hoping you could tell me... Smiling
I bought the seed from an Ebay vendor - and according to the picture it was suppose to be dark purple.... so either the bees did some gene-mixing or the vendor or I did some seed-mixing.... It's not very vigorous and as mentioned, the leaves are yellowish... Can that help you suggest a cultivar name Joseph?

Yours has a wide white central area like a plant I grew once called Seiun, but your flower shows blizzard gene and also the yellow leaf mutation, which is not usually seen in Seiun. Maybe Ronnie can offer an ID.

Joseph I like your mutant, very delicate looking. Thumbs up

@Carsten_DK, your flower looks a bit like one I grew called Suiegetsu only with a blizzard gene. Japanese Morning Glory (Ipomoea nil 'Suigetsu')

I think most that you get now on Ebay are crosses especially if they are home grown. I've grown so many that were misnamed or had a made up name my head spins Hilarious! Unless I definitely know the name or is was correctly ID by the grower I usually just use a description when I offer mine or will tell someone it is just a name I gave to it.

Joseph and Ronnie - thank you for your input concerning a name for the blue I had in flower. I think you are right Ronnie - I see it as a result of some home-grown gene-mixing - but that is fine... Smiling
