The date is not set.

I was hoping to have more people here for the swap. As you know, the more people, the better the selection of seeds. I don't think that I will go forward if we don't have 10 or more people playing.

I have done this swap on the gardenweb for years and had a couple dozen players. I thought I would do t here so people could choose their own seeds. When it's done on the garden web people just send all the seeds to me along with a wish list and I would have to "try" and find seeds that people would like to try out. I thought this would be so much better but, I guess not.

I'm going to post one more time about the swap here and the GW to see if we can grab a few peoples attention. If not, we can decide if we want to go ahead with just a handful of people playing.

Thanks for the update...I love the trading system here but I think a lot of members are a bit confused by it and don't join

I don't know if you save seed but if you do Poisondartfrog is running a seed swap on this site as well. She did t last year and it was great. , You can join her swap using your commercial seeds if you wanted too.

I might be interested if I knew more about this. I get the impression you only want seeds obtained from commercial suppliers. What is the minimum number of seeds for trading, and what is the maximum age they should be? I'm primarily interested in vegetables or herbs, but I do have a few extra flower seeds as well. I participated in seed swaps in the past but had a few cases where they were mis-identified so using commercial seeds sounds safer.

You are correct, this swap is for commercial seeds only. The system here at garden.org allows you to enter the seeds that you have to offer and the number of seeds that you are offering up for trade.. This allows players to decide if they want to trade a packet to get a packet of seeds with however many you are offering. I can tell you that If I am looking for a specific plant to grow, I'd be happy with 5 seeds. It only takes 1 viable seed to grow a plant.

The age of the seeds s the same. I ask that each player put a date that the seeds were purchased. Again, it is up to the person wanting your seeds to decide if they want to try out seeds that you are offering that may be older.
