I didn't think you could enter the same photo in more than one category. Maybe that's why this year the rules say they have users who are going to moderate (and not participate) in the contest and they can remove photos at their discretion.

I'm not too sure about that. I've seen no announced rule like that.
Nothing that's been done can ever be changed.

I haven't read the rules yet for this year but I remember a couple of entries were disqualified last year because they had already been entered in previous contests. I don't know about whether or not you can enter the same photo in more than one category but I think it's okay...

@mellielong, I was told that the misc. category is for animals that are not considered wildlife. I think those would be things like chickens, geese, pet rabbits, etc.

@jmorth, I saw that too.

I think we can ask any questions we have about the contest here: The thread "The 2016 National Gardening Association Photo Contest" in Site Talk forum

I know memories don't always serve us perfectly
but the correct information can be found.

LarryR entered the tree photo in only two different categories and it won only one first place (trees)
It placed 4th in landscapes.

Here's the thread Dave started where I got most of my info about the contest. Zuzu also adds some clarification to the Misc. category. The thread "The 2016 National Gardening Association Photo Contest" in Site Talk forum

Oh, looking forward to pictures, Char. Smiling I've heard about it but never been. Beautiful pictures posted. Thumbs up

I went for a walk yesterday in the usual places, just here on our property. There were many of these tiny butterflies, I'm thinking dainty sulphur but I'll have to ID to be sure. Smiling

Christine, I believe that is the Dainty Sulphur because they have that black dot. It took me a long time to tell the Barred Sulphur from the Dainty. They're about the same size and they never open their wings. But their wings are shaped a little different so that helps. I'm sure BAMONA was rolling their eyes at my attempts at identification. Hilarious!

Melanie posted photos of one too, so I guess they're not all that uncommon. But this was a 'first ever' for me.

Char, that was the first and only one I've ever seen! Maybe they're more common south of me. I know it's not listed in my butterflies of FL book.

Hooray for the Southern Hemisphere! Hurray! Glad to see you Ceci, and your gorgeous butterfly! I also like learning the Spanish names. Thumbs up
