Those are some impressive ruffles on that cultivar! Might be a good one to use in hybridizing because of those fat ruffles!
Several of the Maryott's cultivars that I received in September have been blooming and some are even re-blooming now! Pretty impressive for November, though I know that it is because his nursery has a later bloom period and this likely won't happen next year in my garden. But I sure am enjoying the late blooms this season!
On Saturday, I had 2 blooms on Walter Kennedy. It is an EMO and the blooms were gorgeous despite the morning temps in the upper 40's. It was also one of the first to bloom after I received it in September and is now re-blooming on 1 scape. Nice to go out to the garden and see this beauty in November! Because of the cooler temps on Saturday, these 2 blooms were still open on Sunday morning. It didn't start wilting until around noon time on Sunday! Love it!
I am also seeing 1 re-bloom scape on Power Surge.
In addition, I observed 2 scapes forming on Spacecoast Color Scheme. So that will mean that all but 1 of the 5 cultivars that I received in my September Maryott's order will have produced blooms for me this Fall/Early Winter. Thomas Tew, Power Surge, Walter Kennedy, and Spacecoast Color Scheme are the 4 that will in fact bloom this year for me. Cosmic Kaleidoscope has not sent up any scapes so far, so it may be the only one NOT to bloom in my garden before 2016 is over. Though you never know .... it could produce some December blooms! That happened last year with a previous Maryott's order. Considering the late blooms on both my Maryott's orders, it makes me rather sad that they are no longer in the business of selling daylilies.
