A hardy (to Michigan) cactus. Judge its size by comparing to the knap on the towel. Pot diameter about size of a dime.

Adorable! I think I've seen all but the cactus before. Is it newer? Where did you get the tiny pot for it? If you put them outside, how do you keep them in place?

Some of the micro pots I pictured here in the past were so light & top-heavy. I glued magnets to some of them and they stuck right to the metal door of my little shed. That was fun for a while but they needed water every day.

It's not easy to find ways to keep the smallest plants w/o literally losing them sometimes.

I'm sure you've seen most of the images over at the other place. The pots for the cacti and erodium were picked up at a bonsai show/convention somewhere. The image of the cactus is at least 12 years old. I got tired of finding them growing all over the garden, and even more tired of getting stuck - they have the pointiest thorns I've EVER seen and they go deep and don't want to come out when pulled, so I eventually weeded them out. The little salter was $1 from something like a dollar store before there were dollar stores which are now $2 stores going on $3 stores, so I bought a bunch and planted stuff in them to give away (after drilling a hole in the bottom).

I usually make something out of a block of 2x4 that helps me keep track of the little guys

so they don't blow over or off the grow benches. I try to grow the less thirsty plants in tiny pots to avoid watering twice per day.

Completely awesome! And what a great idea with the wood block. It sounds like I probably have seen the cactus before but just didn't remember it.

The base of this giant potted Yucca offers a lot of space for "ground cover" plants but anything taller than a few inches would cover the gorgeous base of the trunk. So I've been putting some of my smallest plants there.

Here's a few tiny ones

This little pot is about 2.5" across. The bigger Ech is a NOID and the others are prolifica.


Lithops are about finished splitting. Next to what used to be a Jovibarba, now lumped into Sempervivum if I'm remembering right. I don't need more stuff to remember for plant names.


This strange little Jovibarba/Sempervivum in a mini garden hasn't done anything in the past 6'ish years except to get taller. I put the rock there to prop it because it was laying sideways.

The alligator originally held salt & pepper shakers but the tops rusted and the little glass jars got filled with water and plant snippings, long ago. But it's the perfect size to hold 2 pots that are 2" size. The other opening doesn't have a pot @ the moment.

This scores 100% on the cuteness test!!!

@sedumzz have you been pot shopping or did you already have the pots in your upload pics from a day or so ago?

I've had them for a while, I just forgot where I put them. They were brought over from China a while back

There are some companies who ship these products overseas. It takes a couple of months but it's really cheap and otherwise hard to get the same type of ceramic pots
