Bought a couple of years ago and entered it as Pulmonaria saccharata without cultivar. It doesn't look like the pics of the species I've seen on the web. Any ideas?

Could it be Trevi Fountain? That's such a popular one and it's so changeable in its appearance, depending on the soil and the weather.

It looks awfully close Zuzu. Leaf shape looks right, spots are similar, bloom looks right and the dimensions are pretty close. So many of them look similar to me.

I agree. A lot of them do look alike. That's why I was judging mainly on popularity. This is the one most sellers carry, so it depends on where you bought it, I guess.

Seller would seem to fit the profile. My local nursery/garden center. The only thing that makes me question is I entered it as saccharata. I do have P. saccharata 'Milky Way' so maybe I just made a mistake with the older one.

Trevi Fountain is a saccharata, though. The entry in the database doesn't have the species, but I'm pretty sure that's the species.

Mobot says it's across between P. longifolia ‘Bertram Anderson’ and P. vallarsae ‘Margery Fish’.

Yes, I see that. I had found a few sources that call it a saccharata by Googling, but most don't. Sorry.

If others mislabel it maybe my GC supplier did too.

Zuzu, after looking thru my old tags I found the one for this plant. "Pulmonaria, Lungwort", very helpful. No mention of saccharata. The leaves are a lighter green than my P. saccharata ‘Milky Way’.

So now we need Janet to come over and tell us what it is. I still vote for Trevi Fountain. Smiling

Lol, I was going to look but got busy elsewhere. If I can't find it in the next half an hour it will be tomorrow, it's already well into "tomorrow" here.

Pulmonaria officinalis flowers seem to match..

http://www.robsplants.com/plan...

Pulmonaria officinalis 'Spilled Milk'..

http://www.calflora.net/losang...

http://www.missouribotanicalga...

There is a similarity to Trevi Fountain but the flowers look a little different, the centres look to have a pink halo, and I think the leaves are narrower. These are both fairly old cultivars but it's difficult to find many photos of them.

Leaves look closest to Spilled Milk

http://www.flickr.com/photos/2...

The more I look the more varieties I find! Baby Blue seems to be close but the flowers are pale with a darker centre, look at the second pic..

http://www.missouribotanicalga...

Spilled Milk still looks closest for both flowers and leaves.

You can view others on Missouri botanical site by searching for Pulmonaria.

I agree: Spilled Milk is a perfect match in every way.

Here's a link, Evan, if you want to add your photo to the database:

Bethlehem Sage (Pulmonaria 'Spilled Milk')

Lol, I have been searching here and not found anyone who sells it now. It was one of Terra Nova's first introductions of Pulmonaria hybrids in 1994, I found it listed at one nursery here but that is not on their website.
