When I got back home yesterday, I saw that the Blc. Copper Queen's buds had opened. The last bud of Fire Magic 'Nora' was also open. The C. maxima semi-alba ("Lowland Variety") continues to impress.

Alice, I knew somewhere in the depths about wind vs frost.. I think I got into trouble when I started thinking

.. about covering the plants and worrying about the cover blowing away or doing more damage flogging the plants before it blew away!
Ursula I will lift my glass of wine 🍷 in your general direction this evening and toast to another great trip around the sun this year for you!
And in the 'new blooms' section.. this is a plant I picked up when Jim and I went to Apopka a few weeks back..

It's really getting very chilly out there now - I schlepped a bunch of 'chids into the house yesterday, and am now working on a bunch more to come in tonight. Happily, it's just for one night then they can go out again tomorrow afternoon.

I never saw this one coming! Rlc Green-heart 'Amy' opened in non-resupinate formation and had to be secured quickly as it started bending as I moved it.
