Alrighty!

My teensy Lepanthopsis Astrophora 'Stalky' is blooming its tiny heart out, but if you blinked, you missed it. The Penny taped to the wall serves as size comparison.
I remember our Melissa @Shadytrake posting this one some time ago.

This is now the last spike of my Phrag Sorcerer's Fire after continuously shooting out spikes for over 2 years.

And the Vandachostylis/Darwinara Charm ' Blue Star' has now been in bloom since somewhere in September.

Wow Ursula...
Sorcerer's Fire has been continuously inbloom HOW long? Do you have any idea how many blooms it had? That just seems so amazing!
Love the color on your cute 'Blue Star'!

Lindsey, yes. And I find it amazing too. Truly!
The whole time it would bloom from 5 or 6 spikes at the same time, each spike produces somewhere between 5 to 10 blooms. It finally is taking a break, but the plant looks great. I guess lots of fish tank water agrees with this one.

I m still reeling that Ursula 's Phrag had 5 or 6 spikes AT THE SAME TIME!
Ted, you have quite a show going on at your house..your Sophronitis is beautiful and looks quite happy on that mount.
I just got my first encyclia and hope I can do as well with mine as you have with yours!
This just opened for me this morning and it looks like the thrips have already arrived..

Thought it might be a good idea to post that Phrag here. I just took some pics! If you look closely, some old stems are still visible.

I talked to a nice person at Motes Orchids.............they cancelled my order and I'll reorder next spring. He said one reason (other than it looked like it was going to be cold here to send) was that they were just getting a new shipment in and they wanted to send me nice ones. He said what they had left was not as nice. I told him I appreciated that. Sooooo............I'll order when weather is nice again.

Glad you were able to get some resolution, Anna... Bart Motes is a good person... not just a business man.
Ursula, about your Phrag...I was under the impression that once a plant bloomed it never bloomed again..
that it instead sent up an new plant which then bloomed...do they sometimes send up more than one new plant?..or multiple spikes off one plant? Or bloom again on an old plant? The Umbriel that I got in the summer had 5 buds and now has a nice size new plant growing along side the original one. I moved the Umbriel outside once the last flower fell and it seems happy enough on the lower shelf of the bench. They are interesting plants and I am enjoying this new challenge!

Lindsey, my plant simply kept on (and still is,) adding new plants, which then bloomed. This plant clump is well established, has several mature growths at the same time and so certainly adds more than one new plant also at the same time.
I never checked, but would I think each fan blooms only once.

Thanx Lindsey. We have an oak tree at the far end of the orchid area and lately the winds have been blowing. Can't keep the leaves off the bench or plats. Hilarious! The Sophronitis is one of my oldest orchids. Bought it on ebay before I learned I shouldn't. Never did much of anything for years. About 4 years ago I decided to remount it. Well it loved the change and has been growing and flowering great ever since.

I am so glad I took another picture of Rlc Princess Teresa 'Princess Michiko' yesterday! The blooms are very heavy and I caught the larger spike just as it started to bend and anchored it, but the second spike actually broke and is now in a vase. Next year I better secure them before they open.
Really pink!
