A very nice collection, Daphne - and really great value!

thanks mika. rob shared 'double shot' with me last year, and it quintupled in size..... so i am sharing it with the local club. they're having their annual iris fund raiser, by selling rhizomes for $3- $5 (for those irises 2000 or newer). the sale is for the 1st and 2nd weekends in sept.

this will be the first time i'm going to help. i hope i don't come home with more than i'm bringing 😜. it will be held at the famous balboa park in san diego, which i believe was the site for the 1915 panama/california exposition and some other exposition in 1934.

it is a beautiful venue. included in the park are seventeen museums, a japanese friendship garden & tea house, the world famous san diego zoo, the spreckles organ pavillion ( where free organ concerts are held), and many beautiful gardens throughout. [ an aside i think the organ was donated by the spreckles sugar magnet] there's a site with information if you search 'spreckles organ pavillion'. there's even a site for balboa park.

I placed a small order with Iris Sisters. I was feeling like the end of the iris fun had arrived so.... I got Robin's new SDB Reboot, a Blyth SDB Bossy Boots and one as a replacement. as the one I ordered and received earlier is really struggling, SDB Going In Circles. I ordered them I think last Wednesday and they are supposed to arrive here tomorrow. Unlike an order I placed this spring and it has not arrived yet.

thank you both. i am looking forward to growing 'bl' and 'ms'. the real problem is finding ground space :crying:. while they do alright in pots, i'm running out of space for the five gallon pots, as well.😁 it is getting mighty cluttered looking in our garden ( in as much as i am trying to camouflage them).

our mail person even made a comment, when she delivered the latest "i've got a box". "more flowers?", said she. "i think you've got enough!" was her last comment before getting into her vehicle.

soon bonnie, i'll have to invent some kind of vertical growing space device. i have seen them as sculptural elements done with pvc pipes, but they were all for much smaller plants, such as herbs.

i've tried to get DH interested in the project; in his former life he was an industrial designer. but, he wasn't the least bit interested. shucks!

Perhaps if you show him a drawing for something really hideous, Daphne, he would get involved in order to avoid it? Not that I'm suggesting you be crafty...

hahaha mika, i'm afraid i could stand on my head which, would be no small feat on my part, and he would still not pay attention. he hates all things pertaining to gardening, Especially (!) if it involves him.

Blackbird Landing! The blooms are huge. It grows really well and the color is outstanding in many different lighting conditions. Am I partial - well yes, but it put on a SHOW this spring!

haven't gotten it yet, but looking forward to it's coming to live in my garden.👍😄

I wouldn't be happy if my postie told me I had enough flowers.
I am looking into vertical gardens too. I think I can make it work for dwarf irises but only single mother rhizomes for medians and talls which is not very useful but may solve the problem of finding space for my seedlings.

Daphne, just get the delorian from the back to 5he future movies and buy the houes and or lots around your house so you can keep plnting.
