Jim, Yes!
Please do send down your Hawks and all their extended family as well. I would like them to nest around the yard. Hilarious! Hurray!

Would you believe the pair came back at 11:30 to taste some greenery?
I couldn't believe my eyes!! This is maybe a common occurrence in many neighborhoods, but it is a first in my street in 40 years! That Buck is HUGE!!

It does not look like this pair is suffering from the wasting disease that
so many deer have...they look as fat and happy as could be!

It's good your orchids are all cozy ...inside, Ursula!
Are the fish inside as well?

AH! I guess there is SOME benefit to living in the city, after all. We have deer in the hills around here, but they won't fight the traffic to get this urban. The developements in the hills are all surrounded by 8' block walls. They put "wildlife undercrossings" under the toll roads in the foothills, with water tanks for them, but unfortunately, the wildlife don't read, so many deer, bobcats, mountain lions were killed early in the developement stage. The coyotes and rabbits have learned to love those developements!
You got some great shots!

Psst, Carol, the deer don't like to hear the word shots. Pics or photos will work better. Hilarious!

Did someone say shots? As in yummy venison? Big Grin
You know, as much as I love to eat venison, I don't think I could ever shoot one, they are just too beautiful! We let the hunter friends take care of that in Pennsy.... And yes, those two really look healthy and well fed.
Janice, the fish are inside since the middle of September. I need to thin them out one more time as they grow really nicely. Cleaning tanks twice a week...

Not likely! Rolling on the floor laughing
I guess they really got lost. Hope they find their way back to the park/bike path along the Saddle River. I suspect that's were they came from.

I should add - Carol, this is what I am trying to say! These animals had to cross a major main street in town to make it up the road to us. There is LOTS of traffic to avoid!

Great color, Janice. Very nice.

I took a stroll in the garden just a few minutes ago and just had to take another picture of that cassia, now in full bloom. It is like a 12 foot yellow ball in the backyard.

Jim

I am editing this post to say that it is not letting me upload photos at all now. I've tried four times and all I get is instead of a photo address. It does the same thing in Preview mode. I'll try later.

I shut everything down and made a cup of coffee. Let's try again to post the cassia picture.

Jim

It still will not upload. How about a picture from the rose garden?
Thumb of 2011-11-08/hawkarica/b67645

Perhaps it is just that one picture. Let's try a double hibiscus.

The flower spike on that agave is now 5 feet tall.
This pic won't upload either.

This is strange.

I just took another picture of the cassia and the agave. Let's see what happens.

Jim

Thumb of 2011-11-08/hawkarica/d71aa8

Well, the agave worked and the cassia failed yet again. Go figure. I have to get ready for choir practice.
